She could notice the awkwardness that filled the back of the MRAP, evidently brought upon by the jokes that were being made. It was obvious why—people were mauled and ripped apart in the streets, and here they were sharing snacks amongst each other. Lex knew she couldn't fault June and Bille; she herself had been processing it all moments ago, her conscience worried about her job when people were dying. There was a carnal desire to hold onto some normalcy and calm, whether that be for better or worse. "And, uh, don't worry about the fines. I think we have more important things to worry about right now." More important things being that they were about to be trapped in New York. One of the officers' radio went off, declaring that they only had until 4 PM before the military would blow all the bridges in-and-out of Manhattan. Lifting her right arm, Lex looked at her g-shock watch that she had been wearing. It had been a little after 2 PM, which worried Lex. They had less than two hours on the clock to get out of the city, otherwise their own government would abandon them to the dead. It felt like a slap in the face. It felt like betrayal; to be suddenly be left behind by the military designed to protect them. If they wanted to get out, they were going to need a plan of action. "The tunnels into Jersey are probably blocked by now. And I don't think any of us want to be trapped beneath the Hudson with those things on our tail." Lex explained, before offering some suggestions as the MRAP began to drive off from the museum's parking lot. "We could head up north and cross the Washington bridge if we can, or keep going towards Yonkers. At least, that's what I think we should do, unless any of you have any better ideas in mind."
Kali Nordstrom
Location: New York Streets, Natural History Museum Skills: N/A

Kali nodded at Isaac. She hadn't felt entirely comfortable leaving Isaac to grab the supplies by himself, but at least the officer had agreed to act as his backup. "Let's go, Liana." She spoke to her roommate, ushering her onto the MRAP with the rest of the crowd. "They should be able to handle it. Shouldn't take them long to grab everything." Or so she could only hope. Thankfully, the TWUNK of a crossbow bolt made it apparent that her fears were unneeded, as the crossbow-wielding man from before fired upon the approaching undead. Before long, Isaac and the officer had returned with supplies in-hand, little as they were. "You two okay?" Kali asked Isaac and the officer as they returned to the MRAP that had been waiting on them so they could leave. Although they had made it back safe, she still felt it reasonable to ask. "I know it wasn't much, but it didn't seem wise to leave it behind." Especially the rifle and the medicine, Kali had figured. They could probably find food at a hotdog stand or some street joint somewhere in the city, even if it was simply junk food. Might've not been the most nutritious, she knew, but it was food. On the other hand, giving up Gladys' rifle and the medicine they had gathered from Kali's apartment seemed like a fool's mistake while it was still right there in their reach. There was no telling when or if they would find either again on their way out of the city; it didn't take a genius to figure that one out.
