[@VitaVitaAR] Hmm.  It's hard to make a strong link to curses, since she wouldn't have had access to potentially cursed artifacts as a child.  I guess I could scrap the curse aspect entirely?  Have her focus on the classic offensive magic?  Oooh!  Or maybe in school a bully hexed Christopher, and she resolved never to be defenseless against such things again.  How would that be for a connection?
