Either the wild(extra) die or the trait die, yes. Even though you aced both, it is easier to just pick one when that happens. I don't remember,  at this moment,  if it matters which you pick; the Wild Die is primarily exclusive to player characters. I often explain it as "Roll with Advantage... Anytime you Roll, that's when!"
