[] Those who don't like trying to find the natural wonders of the universe, such as why stars don't move (much) but why things like the moon do. [] People who are slightly taller than he is, or just larger than himself. [] Things he considers 'ugly,' from people, to buildings, to colors, and literally everything in between. [] Things that are the color: Gray, except nice-looking smooth stones

Backstory:
As a young boy, Oliver lived a very normal life, having an uncle who took him in after his parents, who had many and had forgotten about him during a party. (His uncle essentially kidnapped him to raise as his own, as his uncle was unable to have children, and his actual parents just decided that yes, they had plenty of children, and his uncle could have one.) His uncle was a prominent member of society, and a well respected scholar of the magical and scientific worlds, lived within the Ring District with his 'son,' and could continue to teach his 'son' to be the best scholar possible, but also a noble, learning to use weapons, and magics to be able to hold his own should a duel or something where they were pressed into the military. The two would continue, and the young lad would find himself more interested in learning about the stars, helping construct buildings to look at the stars, and even having a tower removed to have a better view of the skies, to learn more about the stars. He engaged himself in scholarly things, like math, gardening (mostly flowers, fruiting plants, stone pathways, exterior decoration, grass, gazebos, fish/swimming ponds, and the like), fencing, dancing, alchemy, astrology, and many others. While enjoying schooling, education, wealth, money, his own personal vineyard and lawn, his uncle would be off on many short journeys for those whom he didn't know. Oliver would often accompany him on some of these smaller travels, bringing his unique, personally crafted device known as a telescope with him to observe the stars with, and record his findings. He would track this with magical abilities, himself finding a love for different forms of elemental magics, and magics which involved the larger forms of nature, though many of these he would fail at. This would be his mundane life, living in utter luxury with only the gold that lined the coffers of his families banks, and buisnesses, his research being funded by the interests of the many who wished to see and learn of the world to prolong their dwindling lives, in hopes of finding some cure for the disease known as aging, but only allowing the young man to reach his mid-twenties with only the thought of how to spend money on his mind, and a plethora of ways to use it. Balls, and parties being a part of his life until his late twenties, where he began travelling further with his more refined and less erratic ways. Someone prim and proper, but who still had intelligence and the creativity to search for the world beyond the current knowledge of its inhabitants. He would not enjoy some of these as he had to leave his life of luxury behind, along with his telescopic devices, at home with his fellow scholars and the individuals who contributed to the family's work and the laboratories that Oliver helped construct using his scientific knowledge. That was until he was left one day at home, his uncle had departed on a journey, and all he was given was a letter, a note, and a box. The box contained something useful for the future, the letter had an address, and the note gave an explanation, and a job to do. Would he do it, with some motivation to get him to leave so more real work could be done at the laboratory without a drunken party potentially annoying the course of an ongoing experiment that needed to last a full year of watching the nighttime stars without interruption, but also because many thought the young, now middle aged scholar to find something in the world to enjoy, or someone, so that he became more 'tame' or had someone to tame the wild parties so they would not happen at night. Thus, our middle-aged adventurer began his search for this address and his uncle.
Personal Characteristics:
Very much a romantic, a beautician, and someone who enjoys the cycles of the world in many ways. He is intelligent, eccentric, and gaudy. Very open about his opinions and desires to the point where it can become a detriment. A socialite, even if he is not good at it, and will often find himself with 'fake friends' because money is essentially the most charismatic thing about him. A Intellectual, who will study something to the point of being a detriment. An artist, who enjoys making art to the point of being a detriment. Unrealistic, mostly in his expectations, but it can get the world around him moving. Somewhat of a craven in the ways of being robbed, fighting, etc, things that are unsporting will freak him out. Actual combat will likely do the same, even with his abilities. He's only used those in duels and fights, and competitions, no one would dare lay hands on his precious skin out in public, why would they, everyone loves him (his money). His bonds are mostly those made by money, or his wealth of knowledge, though most find it hard to get along with him, as he is overly eccentric. His views are very much on the side of he was raised as man without want for his wants were fulfilled, the only things he cannot have are what the world hasn't shown him, or that he has to earn through intellectual founding. With the exception of something he can't have while travelling, because he can't have his objects of desire (his laboratory).
Allies?
Likely scholars found in the capitol, and nobles that have lived there.
Enemies?
Most scholars that he has dealt with who have means to have a laboratory of their own, and don't enjoy his eccentricities, parties, or overall roguish form of learning.
Are they a part of an organization?
The school/laboratory himself and his uncle were built in the Ring, and outside of the Capitol (as the Capitol has lots of tall buildings, so having a laboratory somewhere else that can't be interrupted by other buildings blocking the horizon.
Extra Information:
Think of a mix of Tycho Brahe, Jack Horner, and Edward the Black Prince.
Weapons
Sword/Shield Crossbow

Skills and Abilities:

Abilities:
You must have three abilities and give a short description of each ability. They should pertain to the class that you have chosen for your character.
[]A Knight of the Rose : A man decent in the ways of the martial arts, able to hold his own in a fight, though mostly due to his armor, shield and size. While not the best combatant, armor helps keep him and those behind him alive. It is very much a defensive measure, but he is as good with a sword as most trained in it. []Elemental Magics : The elements of the natural world tend to be represented with magics, and with his knowledge of natural sciences, he can effectively use them, even in armor to protect himself, or do more than protection. He primarily focuses on magics involving metal, as he can source the mediums through his armor, or electricity, as he has learned to use his armor and weapons as a conductor to pinpoint attacks, or should he find himself overwhelmed in numbers. He can use others, but most are tied to elements that would be required for said spells. []Blink : A short-range 'teleportation' ability that will shift him and anything connected to him to move a short distance in a single direction by accelerating himself in a certain direction, requiring him and the object(s) he is holding not to touch anything connecting to the earth. Then to move in the direction without running into any objects, which would immediately slow him down or fully halt his movement in most cases, to where he would return to the earth through gravity.
What are the drawbacks of those abilities?
[]He's pretty much just a common well armed knight or man-at-arms. []He typically will require a magical medium often times revolving around the type of magic he requires, example being metal magics (need metal, thus the extra ornamentation on his armor, and often times only being a manipulation of said kind of material) []Can knock himself out extremely quickly if he miscalculates or misaims something, can harm himself greatly as he is accelerating at a high speed, and slowing down, through what is to him, an unknown set of physical laws that he just knows he can use it, but he doesn't know the full workings of how. He's essentially just playing with physics without knowing, somehow not killing himself as he accelerates at high speeds, and then slowing himself down extremely fast, only to fall back to the earth. He only does it at short distances, because he has hit objects in the past, and that has caused serious injury to himself.

Skills:
A minimum of three basic skills that your character contributes to the group with a short description. What can they do OUTSIDE of their abilities to help further the group?
[]Extremely intelligent, and can essentially create most objects with magic as long as he has the materials needed to create said objects, and create them with a high degree of precision. Without magic, he is still intuitive and problem-solving. he might sit down for a while trying to solve a problem, but he will make sure it's solved. He is very much so a scholar in all ways. []Money and Credit with a well-known name. []Artist and Decorator, while this is essentially just him wanting to draw and paint women, suits of armor, and landscapes he has created in various lawns. He is a decent artist, and he does use it both in his research and in making maps and star charts with extreme precision. He is also an excellent architect and decorator of both the interior and exterior variety.
