THE RATMAN
Jonathan was in the courtyard hallway, sitting on a bench. The lanky man had his hands on his face, hyperventilating from the situation that had just happened. He was worried that his life was still in danger. Unless the guards had arrested or taken out Roach, then in that case, he had nothing to worry about. He noticed the commotion going on in the room he had just left. He stood up and spoke to a guard who was walking past him. “Excuse me, but do you know if Roach had been disarmed?” The question made the guard stop and turn to face Jonathan. “The officers in the courtroom were able to disarm the gunman, but it seems I am needed in the chamber. ” The guards' words somewhat helped ease Jonathan's anxiety. But the officer’s face was also anxious. It seemed something had happened that weighed significantly on his mind. This worried look made Jonathan think something else bad had happened. The officer left Jonathan as he and a few others entered the courtroom. For about half an hour, he asked officers what had happened to Roach and those stuck in the chamber, but he received no clear answer. Feeling dejected, Jonathan hoped that some justice had been served today. But this feeling quickly washed away because Roach could easily escape prison. He left the courthouse to go home, have something to eat and read a book. This whole situation was quite exhausting, and he needed to do something to relax. Now he felt he would need to keep looking over his shoulder for Roach.
