The wars and conflicts had ravaged her home and family, her father and two brothers long since dead, her mother passing from grief, leaving Dahlia to watch over herself. She was found by an older man, a vampire by the name of John. He moves her to France with him, and she lived there from the age of 5. Dahlias life was far from perfect, but after being adopted by this vampire, raised as a human in a well off family, she rarely yearned for anything. Her life seemed to be bright, protected. On her 20th birthday, John finally sat her down, explaining why he was gone so often at night, why he would sleep during the day…he taught her about vampires. This of course threw her for a spin, and she didn’t know what to do with the information. There had been several missing persons cases…were they John? She soon accepted him after a trying time of anger and confusion, but this man was basically her father. She cared about him Then one day, she met another vampire, having been taught by John how to spot them. This one was a man named Pierre, and he was Dahlias first love. John didn’t like him, didn’t trust him. He said that other vampires weren’t like him, that they were more dangerous, more unstable, especially young ones, but Dahlia didn’t listen. She was in love. Pierre taught her many things, brought her to places she only dreamt of, and one day, after a more secluded and intimate moment…he bit her. Dahlia woke up in her home after, fire blazing around her, a deep cut around her neck as if someone tried to slit her throat. She began to scream in pain and confusion, looking for John, and when she found him, Pierre was standing over his dead body, the head of her adoptive father bashed in, a wooden stake through his heart. When she cried and screamed and begged for an answer for the betrayal, Pierre gave a grin and a simple answer. “Territory war.” That’s all it was. Her lovers clan wanted to be the only hunters here, and this is what they did? John was involved in a clan war, and she didn’t even know. Her life crashed down in a single night, and she vowed to from then on hunt down and kill every last vampire.
