Here's my second character, originally Venus sphere, currently a pirate operator.

Born Jan Pavel, he was the son of laborers in one of Venus' cities, working the forges once he was 16. Due to corporate rule of Venus, it was a harsh life, barely making ends meet, and fraught with difficulty and tragedy. Jan's mother perished in an industrial accident, and his father wasted away as a result of prolonged exposure to toxic material on the job, leaving Jan an orphan at 15. He was quickly adopted by his father’s friend Trevor Rawlings, but the deaths of his parents caused the young man to develop strong anti-corporatist sentiments and joined a unionization movement.

He quickly fell under the influence of one Jude Mentir, an activist within the movement and someone working to radicalize the movement. Mentir managed to trick many into radicalizing, carrying out brutal terror attacks, then betrayed everyone to the Corpos, who cracked down brutally on everyone, using the radicals’ actions as excuse to enforce martial law. It was quickly followed by imposing martial law, and the Corporations merely got crueller and more heavy-handed, citing public security as an excuse.

Jan barely escaped with his life, but his actions cost him his close friends and his new adopted family, leaving him with scars on both his body and his soul. Embittered and angry, he fled the Venus sphere to law low for a while and joined a pirate outfit, and took up the name Poul Andersen, sometimes using Sam Hall as a pseudonym.

He would eventually find out that the man who had betrayed them all on Venus went by another name - a dangerous terrorist wanted across the Solar System, going by the name of Malak Caliban[b]*[/b].

[b][color=2e3192]Personality:[/color][/b] Poul's harsh life has left heavy scars on his psyche. Snarky, sullen, and brooding, he's slow to trust, preferring to work alone, or with others temporarily. He generally doesn’t open up to others easily (if at all) and takes a long time to warm up to possible friends. He has an especially strong hatred of traitors and of those who abuse their authorities to exploit and suppress the weak, brought on by the harsh events of his childhood and teenage years.

Nonetheless, he places a high value on loyalty, and generally lives up to his word if given (which he rarely does).
