Field of Cars "If you want answers, you can get them from me, Mr. Falcon." Vergil simply stared at the little purple dragon as he spoke, somewhat perplexed how he knew his name. Thinking on it though, it wasn't too surprising: The little guy just started expositing to everyone about the situation without so much as introducing himself. It didn't take a lot of thought to put two and two together and figure out this little rude furball was probably this "Dorumon" that orchestrated this little trip. Honestly, something about the way he spoke made Vergil want to block out what was being said out of irritation. But in situations like this, he had to endure and listen to his kidnapper about why this was happening. He looked around as it spoke; seems a few of the humans and their partners didn't take kindly to how he handled his introduction with Pulsemon. Not that he really cared about what they thought. He's used to getting the stink-eye from people, so any looks of disappointment or anger didn't phase him one bit. They also seemed like they were naturally listening to Dorumon's words which made it easy to ignore them. More importantly, this thing got coy with Vergil in particular in the middle of his exposition. While it was clear he was trying to get under his skin, Dorumon essentially told him everything he needed to know without actually saying it. The runt is still alive, and it seems he was taken in by someone named Lucemon who's playing the brat like a fiddle...Doesn't sound too out of character for that brat. To be honest, his feelings on the matter was all over the place. He all but accepted that his brother was dead when they couldn't find him anywhere for days on end. He told himself that the possibility was slim to none that he was still alive, and the closure he'd get at confirming that was enough to move on with his life. But at the same time, wanting him gone led to the misery of everyone else he cared about, and to know now that there was hope to wipe away those tears and redeem himself to them... He was equal parts relieved, and irritably wrathful. Not helped by the fact that Puff the Magic V-Pet was giving him sass about it. He wasn't quite paying attention to the rest of Dorumon's Monologue, what he could process would have went over his head anyways - especially the Warhammer 40K analogy - but he had the basic gist of what's going on. He grabbed the Digivice before it could hit his head and looked at it, gripping it tight as if wanting to crush it with his bare hand. Pulsemon stayed silent for the most part, listening to Dorumon's explanation to the humans about the situation. Although he didn't quite get the references and examples Dorumon was throwing out there either, he knew the gist of the world's situation already. Anything else was just an example of how much Dorumon knew more than the others about where these "Hu-mons" came from. He then took a side-glance towards his own partner, who now looked like he was about ready to burst in rage as he looked at the Digivice, but he seemed to have calmed down, the grip on the thing lightening up as he then put it in his pocket. "...Pass." That was the only word he said before turning around and walking off. Pulsemon stood frozen in place for a few seconds shocked and confused by his partner literally pulling a 180 and walking away, stuttering to say something while looking at his partner going AWOL, then towards Dorumon as if to ask him what was going on or what to do, then back towards Vergil before running to catch up. "Wait-wha-What th-HEY, WHAT DO YOU MEAN, PASS!? Hold on a second!" He said during this hesitation. "...I had it all wrong. This isn't a kidnapping, it's a war draft! I'm not interested in being told to fight, and the fact he's clearly strong-arming that odd one out doesn't give me much faith in whatever we're supposed to be fighting for. Fucking purple prick talking about shit he knows nothing about..." He ranted as he walked, irritated by the whole situation, and clearly more to himself than to Pulsemon. It left the little guy perplexed, tilting his head in confusion as his partner continued his raving. "What are you on about...? Follow-up Question: Where are you going!?" Pulsemon finally asked as he followed him, while looking over his shoulder towards the others a few times. "To find that little troublemaker and drag him back home by his hair. I've no interest in playing soldier to anyone who'd drag kids to fight for them. If this... Lucy-mon is really using him as a toy and gets in the way, I'll deal with that too." He said as he walked. Pulsemon listened to him with a raised eyebrow, but as soon as he finished he jumped as electricity starting flying off his horn. He immediately moved ahead to the front and attempted to block Vergil from walking any farther. WHOA WHOA WHOA, You're gonna WHAT!? Are all hu-mons this insane, or are you some kind of defect!?"" He asked. Which earned him a grimace and an evil eye from Vergil. "...What?" "First off, I don't know about this troublemaker you're talking about, but Lucemon is not just a Digimon, he's a full-on monster! He's one of the most powerful, most evil Digimon to ever be conceived from the Dark Area! Even the most powerful heroes of the digital world were beaten in a fight with him and the other demon lords! We can't beat him as we are, and that goes double for a Hu-mon like you! Not to mention, we're on an island, and Lucemon and this troublemaker is probably somewhere on the mainland by now! Secondly, you're not here to fight for us; it'd be nothing short of humiliating to have someone like you fight for me. We want you to fight with us. We're partners in this. You help me fulfill my dream to get stronger, and I protect and help you in turn. Thirdly..." Pulsemon was explaining to an annoyed Vergil, who showed with his body language how much he didn't like the implications of what Pulsemon thought of him as a "Hu-mon." However, he was interrupted by the sound of a large splash of water, as they both instinctively looked towards where they came from, seeing the giant Coelamon heading right for them. Pulsemon wasn't too surprised by this; he knew meeting up near the shores were a bad idea, but it's not like deeper into the island was any better. Vergil, on the other hand, widened his eyes awe-struck at the giant sea creature that started attacking the rest of the people there. Seeing the Digimon so far, it only starting hitting him now, what kind of situation he and the others found themselves in. If monsters like that exist in this world, even if the runt's alive, there's no telling for how long. "...I don't know much about hu-mons or the world you're from, and you guys clearly know nothing about us or this world. Thinking on it like that, I guess it makes sense you don't really trust us. ...But what about the other Hu-mons? They're in the same position as you, right? So, in your world... is it right to leave them to fend for themselves like this?" Pulsemon asked. Vergil simply looked at him, and then at what was happening on the shore once again. A few of them were immediately engaged in battle with it, with seemingly not great results. Vergil thought about what Pulsemon just asked, and his thoughts started to race with memories of the past, of his brothers, and the fights he's been in, and why. "...DAMMIT!" He simply yelled before running back towards the beach and the battle, with Pulsemon once again jumping in shock at his sudden actions. "HEY, DON'T GO IT ALONE!" Pulsemon said as he ran after him. --- Once he at the beach, he realized how big this thing was as he ran towards it. Adrenaline outweighing any natural fears he had as he ran as fast as he could, cutting in front of the other digi-destines and their partners, and then using the momentum to jump at the Coealamon while screaming a battle cry. ...Unfortunately for him, Coelamon's face was about as solid as it looked his punch practically bounced off. He could see the Coelamon's giant eye staring at him, as it effortlessly slapped Vergil away swatting a fly, sending him flying. Pulsemon was quick to jump towards and catch his human partner before discharging green electricity from his Fringes towards the Coelamon. "Minor Impulse!" He yelled as he did. Not knowing how that effected Coelamon - and not caring at the moment - he landed on the shore to lay a hurt Vergil down on the sand.

Gradient Forest Well... This went far better than he predicted. To be honest, Lucemon was surprised to see how easy this all was. To his understandings are a naturally curious and suspicious race; they don't quite take what's being said and done at face value. When faced with the unknown, they are usually one to question everything to assess the situation they find themselves in, and so simple explanations to what they view as bizarre happenings are usually not enough. Yet, only one of them managed to ask legitimate questions, and while they are natural questions to be asked in their situation, not one of them was the one he was expecting to be asked. Mike was essentially making cynical potshots and clearly was suspicious of him - a normal reaction, granted - while Melissa essentially swore her loyalty at the drop of a hat, and Beatrice - while noticing him - seemed to be off in her own little world before her Digimon came to her. "Sure, but it's not like we could just ride you guys here on a bus." Ty said in response to Mike about the method of getting them here, as the Digimon hiding amidst the woods started walking to their partners. The ones that didn't come out were for those who either did not come yet, or did not come at all, and as a result they either vanished from sight - knowing that their partner will not come - or remained in the background - waiting still for their own... Seeing as the humans who did come now had their partners, they were ready to be briefed. However, due not only to a lack of questions but also the fact that by now Dorumon surely had already summoned his group of digi-destines by now, it seemed he had to be quick about it. "...That is only natural for them, Elizamon. ...To answer your questions, yes, these who have come before you all, and those waiting in the shadows of this forest, as well as every creature you shall see in this world, are Digimon like myself. Most are aware of humanity, but only to a certain point. As you have no doubt noticed, every Digimon has a '-mon' suffix to their names. Think of it as a kind of ID signature to designate their existence as Digimon. They spent their lives calling each other by those names, so do forgive their habit of giving your race that suffix." He responded. With that he snapped his finger, signaling the 4th and seemingly final partner to come out of the shadows. "More importantly: At this point, it would be more accurate to say that they have been summoned here. Some of you were invited to a remote island in your world and came here from what Ty calls...a "hotel room" on that island, yes? That was the work of another Digimon to gather a group of specific people and bring them to this world to use for his..."insurgency". His name is Dorumon, of which that is a replica of. You may think of them as part of the same species. Call this one what you will if it helps differentiate the two." Lucemon pointed to said 4th partner as he spoke of the Dorumon that's currently at the field of cars with the other humans. "Doubtless, they are already here on this island, being briefed by their host as you are now. They - as well as yourselves - are what we call digi-destines, chosen children who will change and shape the fate of this world. But worry not; As you've no doubt noticed, you need not carry this burden alone. ...Ty, if you would?" He then said, turning towards Ty who gave him a quick nod, and grabbed a few devices from his pocket, putting one between each finger as they began to glow. In a dramatic fashion of first crossing his arms to his waist, he threw the devices like a catapult. "Heads up!" The kid quickly said as he threw them. The devices seemed to home in to their respective targets while in the air, unnaturally moving right towards them. The glow dims to nothing as it gets close, as they stop moving and float right into their hands. "These are known as digivices, the key to your victory as well as your survival. They are the anchor point between you and your Digimon ally; by focusing your emotions through it - your desires, your will to survive - your ally will be temporarily strengthened. Through your digivice, your digimon partner will become both sword and shield at your command." Lucemon explained. "Apparently it's called Digivolution or something like that...Yeah there's a lot of digi-puns in this world, get used to it. Anyways, With these little gadgets, we have the power to change this world however we want. This world is our playground! But Dorumon - the other one - is basically a super cop trying to spoil our fun, and drafted a bunch of other kids to help him out. Our goal, is to fight them back, an establish an Empire of freedom across this whole world, starting with taking this Island as our base!" The little emperor said with a fiery determination that only a naive ambitious child could have. "But first... A demonstration of your partner's skills is in order." Lucemon said, and with a snap of his fingers, the digi-destines and their partners could feel a shift in the temperature as the area around them became cold, snow started to fall in spite of the sunny skies in an intense flurry, and amidst the miniature-blizzard, one could see a humanoid figure standing between the group and Lucemon, wearing a pointed white hat, wearing nothing but white, and holding a staff in hand with a large snowflake on top of it. Walking out of the forest from behind the group, was another humanoid, so similar to the one that just arrived, one would swear they were twins. But this one had a darker cloak, and a fiery sun on his staff in place of the snowflake on the other one's staff, a ball shimmering with electrical energy in the other hand. Reporting for duty!"]
"Think of this as a Dress Rehearsal! Once we start getting to work, this game's gonna get dangerous real fast. Those order-keeping killjoys are probably gonna take a while to get their own stuff in order, and our main boss for this area hasn't caught onto us being here yet. Sooooo....You two! Pretend these guys are with Dorumon and give 'em some exercise!" Ty said, a mischievous smile on his face. With a simple nod, the two Digimon prepared to battle.
[@Mike Dracopyra] [@TopGrail] [@TheRealGhost] [@Spydorking]
