Fuka Nakano "Germany must be pretty draconian if it can force you to be a mercenary." Fuka noted. "How does that work, you 'resign' from the Luftwaffe and then Shattered takes you in? Or are you still a part of the military, just...also involved in foreign conflict?" The military had made her do a lot of things, but forcing a contract on her with some separate entity? That was a new one. It blurred the line between PMC and N/UN more than Shattered (and groups like it) already did, and someone more educated on geopolitics and military ethics could probably argue that it was immoral, but it wasn't like Fuka particularly cared. Things got fast and loose when you poached pilots from the military with the promise of higher pay. She grinned at the apology, shrugging. "None taken. I don't usually trust crazy chicks...no offense." She rolled her shoulders, as if sitting still made her sore. "Like I said, I was a naval aviator. It's why I'm in a Hornet; they needed people who could fly something carrier-capable. As for why I'm here-" She raised her prosthetic arm, rubbing her thumb across the tips of her index and middle fingers. "Same as most people, I'd imagine: The pay's better. Plus, I get to feel like I chose to join instead of just marching in lockstep with the family."
