[color=808080] Wes’s guaranteed list, albeit sad, was entirely accurate. Evelyn simply drank in lack of objection to offer.

Having heard Elysium’s confusion, Evelyn couldn’t believe she worked under the assumption he knew, or rather whoever took to touring him would fill him in on a relatively important disclaimer; that there’d be intense training for them all tomorrow. Jetlag and their travel fatigue be damned. While Evelyn was obedient to the gods, she still knew they weren’t the gentlest and it didn’t mean she agreed with them.

[color=#667c0c]“Be nice, Ev. You’re scaring the newbie.”[/color] 

[color=#ffc300]“Says the one who guaranteed madness,”[/color] she chimed quietly. Well, he had said drunks, sexual activity and fights, so all around a lack of impulse control, she just rounded it to madness.

[color=#667c0c]“Before all you fresh faces showed up we got a message from the Gods warning us that you all were coming. They also told us we have a new leader, presumably mingling somewhere in this crowd, and—how was it worded?—rigorous training?”[/color] Wes mercifully caught Elysium up.

Evelyn gave a single nod for confirmation to Wes. [color=#ffc300]“Sorry,”[/color] she offered Elysium while she winced as the error was foolish and almost painful for her.

Wes meanwhile seemed unphased by the prospect. [color=#667c0c]“Training always sucks. Nick had us spar random opponents, Ajax… [i]What did Ajax have us do?”[/i][/color] Throw the camp in disarray, not lead correctly? [color=#667c0c]“I feel like we did a lot of capture the flag.”[/color]

She thought an older camper had exercised that but she couldn’t correctly recall.

[color=#667c0c]“We know nothing about this new leader, who they are or who their parent is… But I predict a rude awakening tomorrow.”[/color]

 Evelyn shot her eyes downcast, not being included in the unknown leader wonder. [color=#ffc300]“As long as we’re all in agreement about what’s in store for tomorrow.”[/color] She toasted the air and looked at Elysium expectantly for his own agreeance or not. Maybe he thought the gods made light of their word selection? 

[color=#667c0c]“Any guess who it is?”[/color] Wes resumed, back on the leader.

Every prompt felt like he tested to see if Evelyn would give up River. Not that it was that big a deal. His leadership would come to light soon enough anyway, and she was sure he wouldn’t particularly care but…She sought him out in the crowd to find him by the bonfire, with two others for company. She didn’t want him to be barraged. Wes didn’t seem the type, neither did Elysium but in camp once one lip got loose, it tended to spread like wildfire. 

[color=#ffc300]“Maybe it’s actually Elysium this whole time?”[/color] She suggested, teasingly. [color=#ffc300]“He’s just been playing it very cool, letting us say our opinions first.”[/color] She smiled at him. An incognito leader wouldn't have been a bad approach though having paid it some mind.

As deflecting as it was, she couldn’t allow herself to sit on an idiotic suggestion. [color=#ffc300]“No, you’re too lovely to be leader here.”[/color] She cast her gaze into her orange and red cocktail that she cupped. [color=#ffc300]“As are you.”[/color] Her index finger left her glass to point to Wes, her feedback meant as a compliment. To be a successful camp leader and pull the rowdy bunch in line you had to be at least a bit of an asshole, demanding and imposing. At least that’s what she imagined. [color=#ffc300]“And I don't have the commanding presence for it,”[/color] she added for good measure, in case they thought she was just discrediting them as leaders and offending their abilities.
