“Yes,” Gordon huffed, dabbing his glistening forehead with a soggy white handkerchief, “geez… this California summer heat!” Kendra smiled, impulsively fanning at herself at the mention of the temperature. Even with the air conditioning units all at full blast the parking and backstage areas were hot and stuffy and Kendra doubted that the heart of the arena would be any cooler what with nearly twenty thousand people packed together under a massive light show. Gordon made a broad swipe across his face with his handkerchief and then stuffed it into his left pants pocket as he looked between Fiona and Kendra. “Well, I take it you are ready for your debut, Kendra.” “Yes, sir, I am.” Kendra nodded, grinning ear to ear. “Great!” Gordon gave her a thumbs up and then asked Fiona, “And I take it Fiona you took full advantage of the last few days to study over the script we provided you?” Before Fiona could respond Gordon held up both hands and added with a smirk, “Just so you know your employment with us does not demand a word-for-word memorization when it comes to these things. So long as you have the overall gist feel free to wander a bit with your phrasing and add anything that you think might be a nice touch. Just don’t be too out of line…” “Fiona’s got this!” Kendra chirped giving her partner a smack on the arm. “Oh, I almost forgot!” Gordon blurted out, “Uhm, Fiona… you’ll be ringside for Kendra after her introduction and for the duration of the match. Not at the tables.”
