The employees of Railbell, the national railway company of the country Bellud, are excited about the upcoming holidays. While they are waiting for the CEO to make his end-of-the-year announcement, they are discussing their vacation plans amongst each other. However, their director has bad news. The company broke the record of most deaths on one line of tracks, more specifically on the mysterious line 26. This is a huge disaster, since the majority of Bellud's citizens travel by train to get where they need to be. Railbell contacted the police, who apparently already started an investigation. Even after months of searching, investigating, exploring, they were still not even one step further towards finding out the truth. With at least three deaths per month this year, the CEO of Railbell decided that enough was enough. They couldn't wait for the police to finally do their job properly. That's why he created a team that would perform their own, internal investigation. Even though line 26 starts in the city Arunt, which is packed with well-known companies and thus a place people often visit to find a job, and continues towards the cute, little town of Pergan, the line eventually crosses a huge forest. For some unknown reason, most of the deaths on the line happen when the train comes near this specific forest. A lot of customers don't make it to the last station at the city of Niriad, famous for its restaurants and cosy taverns. The accidents have been scaring people so much that they decided to avoid taking the trains on this line, or even trains in general. And while the amount of customers has declined, the accidents keep on happening. Even when there are hardly any people present on the train, someone eventually dies. The internal team responsible for the investigation decided to ask some of their own employees to take the train on this line and comment on their experience. The first group they sent, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. They couldn't provide the team with any useful feedback. That's why there was a second group of different employees. They received the same order as the first group, but their behaviour was different. These people were traumatised by something and they weren't capable of explaining by what exactly. The exercise ended with a third group who... well... disappeared completely, without a trace. Not even dead bodies were left behind. Nobody knows what happened to them. So what is happening out there, around the forest between Pergan and Niriad on the mysterious line 26? Railbell can no longer justify sending people out there to investigate. It was already labeled risky and unsafe, but now it was outright dangerous. However, the people of the company still wanted to know. They had to know. Was it the company's fault? Or was something else going on entirely? Eventually, a group of volunteers was gathered. They were the very last chance Railbell had to find out the truth about line 26. After investigating the tracks between Arunt and Pergan, the volunteers arrive at their meeting spot close to the forest. It is right there that they meet... the ghosts of the victims. Together, the team of volunteers and the ghosts try to solve the mystery surrounding line 26. [hr]Quality is more important than quantity, post length doesn't matter (but no one-liners).
