Background:

Backstory: Gloriont Divaldo was born on the world of Kikkar, the son of a clan chieftain in one of the many neolithic-type Grendari tribes. When Divaldo was only 24, his father was eaten by one of the many dangerous creatures on Kikkar (something akin to an earth house cat), leaving Divaldo the Chieftain of his tribe. Later that year the Edenites arrived. Unlike many who chose to flee from or resist the Edenites, the young Divaldo was curious about the newcomers and fascinated by their technology. Divaldo made contact and quickly learned that the Edenite colony was short of labour. Being an enterprising young Grendari, Divaldo began to trade the labour of his tribe for money, most of which he spent on constructing his own pleasure palace and purchasing a top of the line mobility scooter to allow him to move around the surface world more easily, while also adding to his stature to impress his subjects. To impress upoon his subjects that he was no longer a mere Chieftain, Divaldo invented the title of 'Gloriont'. As the Edenite colony expanded, the need for Grendari labour did as well. Divaldo convinced the authorities to give him weapons in exchange for bringing other tribes to assist in the colonial project (which Divaldo achieved by effectively enslaving them). In commemoration of his campaign of subjugation, Divaldo took on the additional title of 'Overprelate', emphasising his dominance over the Grendari, though he was careful to ensure he only styled himself as the OVerprelate of the Grendari, not of the whole colony, so as not to offend the colonial authorities who were his main source of income. Not satisfied with his temporal power, Divaldo also usurped the position of High Priest of the local Grendari religion and 'Keeper of the Sacred Flame' by having the previous High Priest brutally murdered (though on official records the decapitation was recorded as a 'shaving accident'). At about this time Divaldo also took a harem of 42 Grendari females and spent the next few decades living in his pleasure palace and brutally oppressing his own people with the aid of his Edenite funded 'Royal Guard'. The status quo would probably have remained until someone eventually murdered Divaldo were it not for the Metacer invasion. Divaldo initially assumed the Edenite militia would contain the problem, but when it was clear they would not, he ordered the Royal Guard to hold the palace (which they did with typical Grendari ineptitude), promised his Harem he would return for them (while hoping the bugs took long enough eating them to give him a few more minutes to escape), then fled to the shuttle port in his mobility scooter, bribing a guard to let him onto the next available shuttle off the planet. He forgot about the Sacred Flame in the chaos.
