Uh. Fire powers. So….Hephaestus? He didn’t exactly give me a welcome packet when we met so…." Trinity found herself hanging onto her “so”. She doubted many of them got a welcome pack. Majority of demigods were chucked in the deep end unless you were the golden child. So what? Wes ended up confessing it was only a favorite child privilege after revealing she had a brother. Likewise, Wes checked her after asking if he trained her for P.E and they could work on it anyway. In her mind she hadn’t done anything wrong and that’s how she looked at him. But Rae recalled a small disastrous memory that Wes added to fondly and it was forgotten. “Guess I'm more useful in a workshop than a sparring ring. But hey, we all have our specialties, right?” Or so she thought. There was some undertone she wasn’t fond of. Trinity pressed her tongue to her cheek. The daughter of Ares was speaking her own love language, trying to get Rae training and in better fighting condition but technically the daughter of Hephaestus wasn’t completely wrong. They needed supporters, healers, tinkerers, warriors, the versatile lot. Besides, some people had powers to run on. “Right,” she finally answered after a moment. She hoped Rae didn’t run out of fire. See how far usefulness in a workshop could get her when things went to shit in camp for the billionth time. Her simple answer however could’ve been drowned out by Wes, dismissing it with a hand, oblivious and happy as ever. “I can’t fight for shit either. Well… I can throw a punch, but actual weapons and combat? Trinity keeps trying but I’m kind of useless.” Trinity’s eyes flickered to him. “I can only try.” She thought she would’ve managed a smile for him but she couldn’t. Then her eyes were back on Rae. It was slowly coming together why the two might’ve got on so famously. They didn’t need to train. Combat and violence was primal and beneath them. They could rely on their powers that they didn’t need to better themselves. Things fell flawlessly at their laps. It wasn’t said but that’s where her mind took her. She always believed better and more peaceful options for Wes and now Rae was here. “So, uh… who’s your divine sponsor?” One quick sharp name was at the tip of her tongue but Wes got in first, rambling goofily again. Trinity already offered little but still, even she felt the less she said the better. “Trinity’s a daughter of Ares, if her muscles and fixation on physical education didn’t give that away.” She jerked her head back. She wouldn’t class herself fixated on phys ed. Maybe how personalities and powers shifted over to combat but that was all and not worth confessing. "My mom’s Aphrodite. So I just, ya know, exist to be pretty or whatever.” Trinity reached across, squeezing his shoulder once comfortingly. “ Probably why you had a crush on me in the first place. The whole allure thing is… weird. I can’t really control it. So you could very well hate me, once you get used to it.” Her arm returned by her side. “And do you still have a crush on him?” She asked unfiltered. Why should she tip-toe around it since Wes brought it up with such ease. No harm checking if that crush leaked into the present. It wasn’t going to make Trinity dislike or like Rae more and she wouldn’t be blamed. It was just a knee jerk reactive question. Perhaps desperate to change topics or still in shock about her arrival, Wes spoke. “I can’t believe you’re here. Small world.” He laughed. Trinity looked off. “Isn’t it just,” she muttered under her breath. Somewhere, she knew she should’ve been supportive. Somewhere, she knew nothing would transpire with Rae. Maybe it was the luxury they got from each other. Wes could cruise by in school and Rae got free companionship while that was never Trinity's way. She fought tooth and nail for a mere passing grade, if even that, and deterred people. And now here they were again. Both demigods. Both above training. Blasts from the pasts. “Here, let me help you with that.” Trinity tracked his hand that grabbed her suitcase from her. “Did you need help finding a cabin? Or anything?” She clapped her hands together, finding herself relieved at the concept of not being the third wheel a minute more. “Yes. You two probably have a lot of catching up to do. Lots of things to address.” She gestured to Wes’s missing arm. A perfect distracting topic. “You should give her the full tour and really fill her in on camp,” she advised. There was no venom or sarcasm in her words, but genuine advice that hid a warning. People died and camp got invaded frequently enough. Training probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to increase their odds of survival but she’d let them figure that out.
