When Ashley sat down on a nearby bench, the Crow quickly fluttered his way down next to her. He pecked as the wooden seat as he tried to think what to say. "I mean, I suppose it's not all the different," he eventually said. "We crows have our own ceremonies and rituals and ways of doing things. We have our codes and etiquette. But with humans it seems so much more..." He paused, trying to think of the right word. "Well, just more. It's all so intricate, complicated. I have no idea how you humans are able to coexist as well as you do." He raised his head to Ashley. "You, Emily and that other human were able to come together to avert a horrible crisis, and get that man who almost killed us to leave without any further violence. Yet you're all so different, and I feel there were things about how that whole situation was handled that I can't quite... grasp. It all feels very beyond me, and until now, things that were beyond me never bothered me." He stopped himself before he had to admit 'Now they do', but it was very clear to see that was in the implication.
