Valerian followed Amelia out. Occasionally rubbing the spot on his forehead where the Mimikyu he tried to capture headbutted him. The audacity! The sheer nerve!

When they reached the alley, he paused mid-step, blinking at the strange little trio before them. Two Mimikyu… and one not. His eyes narrowed. [color=pink]“…Wait.”[/color] He glanced at his Rotom Phone, which buzzed unhelpfully. Then at the bag-clad, trash-draped creature. Then back to the Mimikyu, who were doting on it like it was their long-lost cousin.

Valerian placed a hand dramatically over his chest. [color=pink]“So let me get this straight… That is a Pikachu, in disguise as a Mimikyu, who is already disguised as a Pikachu.”[/color] He paused, then gave a slow, impressed clap. [color=pink]“Honestly? Iconic. That’s commitment to the bit. Confusing. But iconic.”[/color]

Still, his eyes drifted warily to the Mimikyu, particularly the one who had turned his forehead into a landing pad. [color=pink]“…That said, I do suggest we proceed to the Pokémon Center with haste, before one of them has another emotional outburst and mistakes me for a chew toy again.”[/color] He dusted off his coat and added, [color=pink]“I can only take so many surprise headbutts in a day before it starts affecting my posture.”[/color]
