It had been about three weeks since she took some of the tech from HEART Corp and ran out of the building. She wasn't chased per se, but she was certain that the cameras would have caught her stuffing some of the Ranger materials into her backpack before making a beeline out of there. Had all of the tech been available, she would have taken more, but three of the Morphers were now in her possession and Charlie had to live her life constantly looking over her shoulder. HEART Corp wasn't bold enough to make the details of their top secret "Project Ranger" initiative public, so she figured that they wouldn't press her in public; still, here she was inside of a clothing store, occasionally looking over her shoulder only to see some kid and his mother trying to decide between a graphic tee and a button-up. School would start back soon for kids and the mall was completed packed to the brim for the back-to-school sales. "So glad I'm done with school..." she mumbled to herself, delicate hand gliding across the fabric of a lavender colored shirt that reminded her of the past. On her left wrist was her Power Morpher, though it did a good job of parading itself as a Smart Watch. As far as she knew, Charlie was the only Ranger these days and the responsibility of taking whatever these new creatures were down weighed on her heavily. She hadn't quite made her appearance public just yet, only fending off creatures during the night, but she knew at some point that she would need support from someone other than herself. The togetherness of the previous team was what made their bond so strong. A small backpack was nestled on Charlie's back, containing two additional Power Crystals that she managed to nab from HEART Corp. The way the crystals worked a decade ago was that the shards would immediately bond with a worthy individual. There was no manmade link that could happen as hard as the workers of Project Rangers tried to make it work. Charlie was just fortunate she managed to stay away from the purple Power Crystal long enough before she decide to snatch it and run. It immediately bonded with her. With where she was standing in the store, Charlie was unaware of the two other guys who were off in the men's section, her back turned away from them while she moved on to the next rack of clothes. With the renewed power flowing through her veins, she was searching for more purple gear. A running joke that the Rangers used to do was wearing colors that coincided with their specific Ranger color. It was childish, maybe a bit immature... but it was comforting. "Silas would have bought one of those hoodies," Charlie said with a chuckle, slowly walking along the backside wall. The Power Crystals in her backpack, blue and pink, made her think about her other fallen friends: Eddie, Andre, and Parker. Silas was the glue that kept them together, a leader of sorts. Eddie was the flashy one that loved making the team a perfect meal. Andre was the cool one who could kept everyone laughing (she wondered how his little brother was doing after everything). And Parker was the heart of the team, willing to sacrifice her time and energy if it meant helping others. Charlie missed them as well as the others who stepped away after the war had ended. Glancing up at the purple hoodie that was just too far out of her reach, Charlie kissed her teeth in annoyance. "The obsession with making short people work harder to grab stuff is... something..." she mumbled, glancing around now for a step ladder.
