Planet: Caliban

Description: Freya stands at mid height for a primary, her hair is black and often worn in a wild mane, her features are sharp and piercing and rest in a manner seeming dismissive of all that she sees.
Her right eye is permanently covered with a black leather eye patch that she is never seen without, whole the other is a piercing green that almost radiates in the dark.
She wears armour of beaten iron black and silver, chased with green emeralds. The form of which is utilitarian, her left shoulder carries the sigil of the black wolf upon a green field that is her coat of arms, and across her shoulders is a mantle crafted from the pelt of the great black lupine beast she slew for her namesake. The pelt seems to cause an area of psychic disruption around it that can be fatal to those who attempt to use the warp.

She wields the great single bladed axe "Foe Biter" as her favoured weapon its blade and power field a product of the newly advanced sciences of The Knights of Lupus. It is said that with a single blow she once cleaved a fortress wall fron crenulation to foundation.

For foes beyond the reach of her axe she wields the relic pistol Blackflame. Based on the technologies of eldar raiders that once unsuccessfully attempted to steal away the beasts of caliban, the energy pistol fires beams of blinding dark light that scars the eyes of those that stare at them, material that it hits seems to be torn apart violently as the dark energy simply negates its existence.

Background: Freya's arrival to Caliban signaled an event that would change the fate of the world forever, as her pod impacted upon the fortress of Calibans largest knightly order, destroying it utterly in a blast of force that left no stone still stacked upon another. 

The first to respond to this even was a force of the Knights of Lupus, who came across the child still sealed in her pod and stole it away, claiming to others that a meteor has fallen from the sky to destroy the fortress, ensuring that none would know of the technological marvel of the strange pod they had found in the ruins.

Santana, who was Lord of the Knights of Lupus would take special care to investigate the technologies of the pod, removing the child within whilst she was still unconscious and carefully researching the technologies and data logs found within which allowed the Knights to leapfrog their technological understanding forward by a great deal. 

Freya herself would be kept in the dark about the circumstances of her finding, simply being told that she was found in the forests, while initially the Knights tried to push her to assume a more "ladylike" role, they soon found out that she was not in any regards willing nor suited to it (one Knight after attempting to explain why women weren't allowed to fight found himself put half way through a wall) and thus quickly began her training her in the arts of battle.

She of course, learnt and grew at an exceptional rate. And by the time of her 5th birthday she was already set to go for her first beast quest dispite this Santana, who had come to view her as his daughter, still belived her too yound and so ordered an escort of knights to accompany her.

None could say what happened on this quest, all that was found was that Freya returned alone, with no Knights, not even a horse, and with one eye covered in bloodstained leather straps.

Hauled with her was her prize, a monstrous heavily mutated black wolf fully the size of a tank, it had claws and teeth made of a silver metal far too hard to be anything of this world.

From this act would Freya gain her epithet of "Schwarzwolf" the beasts claws combined into an axe with a power field based on the data extracted from the life pod, and its pet would be worn across her shoulders, its form still giving off malign energies that caused seers to weep blood and hedge mages to enter seizures when within its presence.

Legion Name: Pre Primarch: The Bladesworn / post primarch: The Steel Wolves

Associated Primach: Freya Schwarzwolf

Concept: The VIth start the heresy as a legion that strives to cleave as close to the principa bellicosia as possible. They belive that it is a borderline sacred set of rules that is the emperor's direct guide upon how to wage war. Underlying this however is an complete genetic predisposition to brutality and a utilitarian approach to killing that unnerves and disgusts many who view it.

Signiture Tactics: The Legion fights in the traditional rank and square formations as laid down in the Principa Bellicosa. Blocks of infantry grind down the enemy, whilst supported by other assets, sometimes literally marching over them to crush them to death under armoured boots.

Each Legionary is armed to the standard, with the signiture weapon, carried by all astartes of the legion being a broad bladed gladius, designed for use in the mass press of close combat, and often used in the mass butchery of any who stand in the way of an advance.

The armoured reserves of the legion are modest, and used principally in the support of the infantry, breaking holes in the lines and suppressing enemies to cover advances.

Mounted and fast attack assets are rarely seen, usually they are used to recon areas ahead of the main force and when called upon to fight sweep in from the flanks to drive the enemy into the main force of the legion.
