Unfortunately for me, it takes more than a couple of these to do the job. Perks of being a son of Zeus, I guess. Great when you’re avoiding bad decisions, less great when you’re trying to make a few,” Forest grinned at the reveal. A son of the big guy himself. While he did not know many of the other Gods and Goddesses, Forest had heard plenty of stories regarding Zeus. He crooked his head again as he examined the man, wondering which aspects of his power he was granted. A second later a man offered the bar a cigarette. “Appreciate it, but I prefer… greener pastures. Something that takes you a little higher than a couple drags will.” “One thing led to another. Yeah, I’ve been there a few times myself. Different context, same general… escalation.” Forest caught the knowing look over the rim of Elias’s glasses and chuckled a gentle laugh in response. Forest knew the escalation all too well during his time at Ohio State University. For some reason, whenever Forest would go out and have a drink at a party, women would really like when he was genuinely engaged in conversation with them instead of trying to win them over like a prize to be won. Some of them also really liked his muscles. “Pretty sure the only landmarks I’ve hit so far are the buffet table, a friend’s cabin, and your handiwork.” Forest tossed a grin Elias’s way. The man was dangerous with the compliments. Forest knew that his non-existent ego might be at risk of growing three sizes with the relentless barrage of kind words. “So, if you’re looking for a tour guide, the only thing I can promise is equal parts aimless wandering and bad commentary. Worst case, we get lost. Best case, we find something worth coming back to.” Elias was speaking Forest’s language. There was something interesting about exploring this place with someone who was willing to get lost in the pursuit of it. While a more experienced camper might be able to give them the most detailed guide possible, in the most efficient way possible, that would be less fun than the risk of being lost in his mothers domain. Forest wanted to see everything this camp ground had to offer. Every last open tract of land that he could get a garden in, every unique flower that differed from the ones back home, and even see if he could commune with the trees themselves. No doubt that this place may have an easier time back home. Especially if the trees were as old as he hoped they were. Speaking of flowers, Forest turned his head at the sudden plethora of them near the bar area that wasn’t there before, knowing his sibling must be here somewhere. Before she left, his Mother gave him the news that he had siblings out in the world, and one was at the camp that she wanted to send him too. Demeter told him he could learn much from training alongside a sibling. Two different approaches to the same magic would yield a sense of cooperation, and mutual aid. His eyes did a quick scan over the area but did not know if there existed any difference in look between the children of the gods. Still, tonight was a night of meeting new people and planting the seeds of friendship, companionship, and camaraderie. And Elias would be the first person to experience the power of friendship firsthand. Plus, with his limited knowledge of greek gods and goddesses, Forest figured befriending the child of Zeus was a smart move. “Well don’t you sound like the perfect kind of guide,” Forest paused as he walked back to the bar and grabbed two more bottles of mead and walked over to Elias, handing one out as his payment for his tour guide services, “couldn’t hurt trying some more, this one is one of my favorite Melomel’s. If you can find me a seed for greener pastures,” Forest grinned as he shifted his eyes to match Elias’s, “I can get you some good ol’ fashioned herbs and spices if you catch my drift. Now, shall we get lost,” Forest paused as he grinned, “or shall we find something worth coming back to?”
