She felt like she could breathe again. She'd made it. "My name is Julia Kray. It's a little bit of a long story but I'm not the only one who's looking for you today." Julia's eyes flicked to Sarah, then back to Madelyne. "Im not sure what the other guy wants but there was definitely magic involved, so I-" Julia had not sensed any danger while she had been talking. Her instinct to dodge kicked in before her thoughts could keep up. The monster was here, and it had just tried to attack her. She could feel the stinging, burning sensation of a wound on her forehead. If she was even a fraction of a second slower, she'd be dead. She still didn't know the full story of why that strange woman had wanted Madelyne, but Julia somehow knew that Madelyna would be in danger. Being forced into a life like Julia's would be one of the better case scenarios, and kids should not have to deal with that kind of life. No teenager should need to get used to life-threatening situations. It had taken Julia a long time to deconstruct and reconstruct her entire sense of morality while in prison. Now she was going to put that effort into stopping anything similar from happening here. There was not enough space here. Too many shadows in too close proximity, and limited manouverability compared to out in the open. Thinking quickly, Julia wrapped her ankle around a chair leg, pulled it closer, and then kicked the chair at Nigel with all her might. It became apparent that this was no middle-aged woman, with that feat of superhuman strength. Julia didn't even check whether ornot it connected. It didn't matter. That was just a distraction. Julia grabbed Madelyne's wrist and dragged her out of the restaurant. She offered no explaination. No apology. She said nothing to Madelyne or Sarah. No time. Mads struggled but this older woman's grip strength was the real deal.
