As some of my rp partners have been eaten by life, I'm looking for one (or maybe two) new partner(s). If you have a plot in mind that seems like something I'd be into, feel free to suggest it. I am in the mood to play against some sort of 'monster' - half dragon, demon, a creature that goes bump in the night. Some of these plots are more fleshed out than others. (What? You've seen this thread elsewhere?? shhhh.... no you didn't. xD )
- - -The Necessary Bits- - -
Who I'm looking for: Anyone who is casual/high-casual who wants to RP with me is more than welcome to see if we click. ^^ I don't bite... hard. I'm looking for someone to play an any gendered character to my female/nb. If you want to be my guinea pig, I'm willing to play a guy (probably a trans guy) - I just don't have a lot of practice writing them. I'm much more interested in quality over quantity - I like depth in character development, and collaborative world building. A 5 paragraph post that rambles and isn't well written won't hold my attention like a couple paragraphs with insight into your character's thoughts and development. Craving right now: I'm a sucker for fluff. I have a bit of a craving for something dark and gothic-y with heavy romance. (Though not heavy smut - I mean the romance is the driving force of the rp.) Something heckin' queer. 🌈 ([s]Maybe a polyamorous romance/'OT3'[/s]? I already have an OT3 going on and can't currently manage another one... unless its a REALLY good idea, or my partner wants to play two characters. You can likely convince me on this pretty easily though.) Something with fantasy races? (Half-Dragons, Orcs, Demons, Merfolk...) Something based on the Legend of Zelda? I'm currently having feelings about sworn knights and smart princesses and the purpose of fate. To play a fat character in a romance RP - not in a kink way, but in a fat-people-don't-usually-get-to-be-main-characters-so-lets-change-that sort of way. My Limits/Requests/Rules: I'd rather RP over PMs, as it is easier for me to keep track of things. While I don't mind mature things, I'd rather not go into heavily detailed mature scenes every time they happen. Making out, leading up to sex is fine, but then glossing over the rest or fade to black is my preference for at least half the time. I want a romance/love story. As the RPers, we might discuss what happens between the characters in the bedroom if we feel comfortable with it and if anything happens. As for language/violence, go for it, I have no problems with it unless it's against my character. Other information: I'm in my mid-30s, for those who like to know the age of their partners. My goal is that you can expect a reply from me once a week or two. Feel free to poke me if you haven't, I sometimes forget...everything... exists. Discord is great for this. But if you want someone who replies fast, I'm not your partner. I do keep coming back, I just am a glacier. I'm pretty casual in regards to my partner's response time as well. As long as I know you plan on replying, we're good. I know life likes to get in the way of things. I might poke you just to make sure. But if you DO have to bow out of the RP, I just ask you let me know. My current RPs are at a slow point, so I don't actually have that many active. That being said, I'm only looking for one or two new partners, to keep from being overwhelmed. I tend to be drawn to fantasy RPs - more 'traditional' ones rather than urban/modern fantasy. About my Characters: I play characters of different shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Not all of my characters are conventionally attractive - in fact most of them aren't. They'll have scars, or a too big nose, or a limp, or be fat. They might have anxiety, or a stutter, be devout or atheist. The world is full of different people, and I like to include that in my roleplays.
- - -The Fun Stuff- - -

The Goblin King - ruler of dreams, of chaos, of beings of mischief. An Immortal Fae, one of many who rule the Underground. A young woman, a champion of her kind. Her dreams are vivid and colorful, a bright spot in the land of dreams. It is no surprise the king fell in love with her. Once upon a time, two beings fell in love. Character B is immortal and ageless, never dying, forever living. Character A is woefully mortal. When 'A' died, 'B's heart broke. But a few decades later, 'B' found another... and after their death, another. Each love so much like 'A' that 'B' couldn't help but love them. It took a century or two, and then 'B' realized... 'A' was being reincarnated. Character A doesn’t remember their past lives, but Character B remembers each and every one. 'B' has loved 'A' in every past life, no matter what. They were made for each other. Each night that 'A' is alive, they visit each other in their dreams, however 'A' can't remember them upon waking... Until one day, after meeting 'B', Character A does. - - - Side notes: Character B does not strictly have to be 'immortal', but can be a very long lived race like an Elf or Fairy. Just because 'B' is searching for 'A' doesn't mean they always find them. This can be in a world where Soulmates are common or uncommon I want this to lean slightly dark. Happy ending, but there's a good amount of angst. If you want to play a sexy, dark, dreamy fae, this rp is for you.
* Kind of feeling this
'Character A's father, the king, made a deal with the Lord of the Underworld for power, wealth, or something else. In return the king is required to give up his firstborn daughter ('A') as a bride for the Devil's offspring (Character B). A mix of comedy and darkness. Shenanigans ensue. Side notes: Your character is the awesome demon.

image by harblkun on tumblr
but what if a vampire drank the blood of someone who was anemic like would they be seriously grossed out “what the fuck is this” “i have anemia” “can you take something for that you should probably take something for that this shit is nasty to drink let alone have running through your body i’m setting up a doctor’s appointment for you” "dude really you don’t have to just leave what the fu—” “you disgust me here take these iron supplements” “where did you even get th—” “shut up and take your pills and dont forget your vitamin D" ...and then the vampire can’t stop being concerned for their meal and then later finds out that it is love.
So, I'll admit, this is based on a tumblr post you may have seen floating around, if you've ever gone down the rabbit hole of tumblr. It sparked my interest, and I think it could be a fun and quirky RP to play out, with some dark humor thrown in there for fun. While the premise of this RP is quirky and fun, I'm not looking for something cracky. Please keep that in mind. I'll play either the vampire or the human; we can discuss roles in PMs.
* not really feeling this
Nobility/Commoner Normal Person/Fey Normal Person/Otherworldly creature Nobility/Guard Nobility/Thief Paladin/Necromancer Normal/Thief 'Hero'/'Villain' Any/Bard

Arranged Marriage Retold Fairy Tales Heroic Fantasy Two idiots in love Only one bed

Tamora Pierce - Tortall and Emelan settings; I like the magic in Emelan a lot Legend of Zelda Dragon Age Duskwalker Brides - ok, this is spicy but the setting and lore is legit interesting Mass Effect Murderbot
- - -
Writing Samples
- - -
Kella grit her teeth as she marched along, hearing the man follow behind her. The way he spoke of the king rubbed her the wrong way. Who was he to speak of the king so? And what did he know of her mission? He was so infuriating! Why he couldn't have just left her alone, she didn't know. But he followed her - and forced her to walk, damn him, as she would not mount in front of him in this condition - and so Kella's mood soured with each footstep. She did not talk to him, or give him any indication that she wanted his company. Or that she didn't want it. Kella steadfastly ignored him as the sun slipped lower and lower on the horizon. Had she not lost time by being forced to walk, she would have made it to town and an inn. But no. Kella sniffed. She was going to have to camp out in the open, now, and it was this man's fault. She stiffened as he drew nearer, telling her she should rest. As he was done with his little speech, she sniffed. "I doubt you are morally obligated to do anything. And you do not know me - do not act as if you know what I can bear." She tossed her head, sending her hair fluttering, the red color of it taking on a deep, fiery tone in the dying light of day. Her gait was shortened, the movement of her injured leg stiff. Kella knew she had reached her limit, or near it, but there was no way that she would admit it to this insufferable man. She leaned on her mount, hoping he would not notice. Notice, and then force her to rest. As if she couldn't take care of herself! Starlight tossed her head and let out a snort, seemingly not liking this from her mistress. Kella frowned. Now even her mount was telling her it was time to rest! How entirely frustrating. She ignored the fact and strode onwards... until her injured leg finally gave out, not ten steps further. She let out a colorful swear as her knees buckled and hit the ground, dust and dirt scattering up around her.
- - - - - -
It was an honor, they said. With her hair plastered to her face from the quick summer storm that had raced through the countryside a half hour before, Astrid let out a cry of anger. She could do without this so-called honor. Last night, she had went to bed dreaming sweet dreams and planning her dress for the harvest festival. This morning, she had eaten her porridge not even realizing it was to be her last meal. Then everyone had been called to the town square, and the mayor had said the dragon had demanded a sacrifice of a maiden to keep away from the town and its farms. Astrid wanted to spit at the thought of the sniveling mayor, with his portly stomach and his pasty face, but she had not had anything to drink since noon, and her mouth was dry. She leaned against the roughly made stake that she was tied to, every inch of her body aching. How did the mayor know what the dragon demanded? Did the mayor speak dragon-ese? The thought of the mayor knowing what the dragon wanted was laughable, if Astrid felt like laughing. More than likely, they had no idea what was going on, and the dragon would just eat her then turn on the town. After all, the mayor had so much more meat on his bones than Astrid did. Perhaps she should make a point to tell the dragon that. The light was slowly creeping away, and Astrid stared up at the sky. Maybe the dragon would eat her quickly, and she wouldn't even notice she had died. The girl – not so much of a girl but rather a maiden just over the cusp of womanhood, seventeen and dreamy-eyed, though those eyes were now empty of dreams – swallowed. Maybe dragons were like cats, and played with their food. What a horrible notion.
- - - -
There was a rustling behind her, and Elodie spun to face the sound. "Hello? Wh-who's there?" There was no answer to her quavering voice. She couldn't see any creature or person, and though Elodie supposed a bird could make the sound, the rustle had seemed larger than a bird. All sorts of animals might live within the grounds. It was only logical to think so. Just because something made a sound, it didn't mean it was big or scary or going to hurt her... *BONG* Elodie let out a shriek at the sound. Cream twists and basket went flying, decorating the garden floor with splattered pastry. Hand pressed to her chest, it took a long moment for Elodie to recognize the sound as something familiar, not frightening. A bell. It wasn't the sound of a church bell, but closer to the bell that the town crier rang to get passerby's attention. Perhaps someone was trying to get her attention. Chewing the edge of her lip, Elodie considered her options. She couldn't go back the way she came. And staying where she was didn't sound all that appealing - already the shadows seemed longer and more ominous... she didn't want to be here in the dark of night. Heading towards the sound of the bell seemed like the best option. Leaving her basket and the splattered pastries, Elodie followed the sound. It was easier than she had expected, the path she was on seemed to lead right towards the sound...and the castle proper. The doors were wide open, and candlelight flickered in the hall in an inviting way. Still, that business with the roses made her cautious. She stepped up to the door, but did not go inside. What if she was shut in, with no way to escape? Though, wasn't that her situation already? "Hello?" She called, her voice echoing back to her through the hall. It sounded so empty. "Is anyone there?"
- - - -
"I don't think I can stand to read yet another rejection letter." Oriel ran his fingers though his hair, pushing charcoal locks away from his face with a sigh. He looked toward the Keeper of Correspondence, a lady that had been in his father's service since Oriel was barely toddling. Her mouth was in a thin line - she was the right hand of the Minister of Relations, and both the Keeper and the Minister had been working hard to secure an alliance of marriage. To see their hard work was rejected once again, after weeks of debate and polite crafting of letters, was a sign of instability. Instability Oriel was trying to avoid when he took up the mantle of Crown Prince. Instability that might never have occurred if his brother had only lived. Instability that never would have occurred at all if the mine to the north had never been found. Oriel resisted the urge to put his head on his desk and cry. Instead he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. There had to be at least one royal out there willing to marry him. But he knew how it might look, to marry a prince that appeared out of apparent thin air. "Have we any willing to speak about marriage to Elise, at least? I know the king of Orias has a handful of sons to marry off..." The look on the Keeper's face made the Crown Prince trail off with a grimace. He began tugging at a lock of hair at the nape of his neck. "We still have options, your highness." Fewer now, and not the ones they had hoped for. "All hope is not yet lost. The Minister and I have a meeting later to discuss--" A knock on the door to Oriel's office startled them both. With a look of confusion - Oriel had requested not to be interrupted while in meetings - and some trepidation, he nodded to the Keeper, who opened the door. The Castle Steward stood on the other side, hand raised to knock again. "Pardon the interruption, your highness," the Steward bowed, "but we have received word of guests." "Guests?" Oriel stood. "Are these...guests...unfriendly?" He couldn't think of any other reason why he would be alerted in a meeting otherwise. "Pardon me for being unclear, my prince." The Steward raised his head. "They are guests responding to your letters of marriage. They seemed to have shown up in lieu of sending letters of reply." Oriel glanced at his Keeper of Correspondence, then at his Castle Steward. "Oh. Oh!" He looked down at his outfit - he wasn't dressed as impressively as he would want to be upon meeting a future spouse, but he was presentable. "I shall meet them in the throne room." A short time later found Oriel in the throne room. He sat upon his brother's chair - he still could not help but think of it as anything other than Amaury's chair - and looked towards the towering doors at the opposite end of the room. Light shown in the windows, casting the colors of stained glass across the polished marble floor. Oriel usually found it pretty, but even the colors of the rainbow dancing across the floor couldn't distract him. Who had decided to reply to his offer of alliance?
- - - -
It had been a long time since she had been treated with such patient kindness. It helped her put one foot in front of the other, following the naga through the woods. She still felt a bit likely to start crying again, but keeping watch for edible berries and bear leak kept her mind occupied enough that she could hold the tears back. Soon enough she spotted a patch of bilberries. Nahrina gathered the front of her tunic into a pouch and plucked the deep blue berries from the bush. She wouldn't be able to hold too much with only her shirt as a basket, but it would be enough for now. And besides, for every three berries she gathered, one went into her mouth. The berries were sweet and just a little tart, and at the moment Nahrina didn't think she had tasted anything more delicious. The sweetness of the berries helped clear her head, and her mouth no longer felt like she had been stuck in a sandstorm. When she had gathered as much as she could safely carry, she moved on, trekking behind Aulisk with a bit more energy than she had before. Not that it was near her usual amount of energy. But it was something, and for now she would settle for it. She found some bear leek as they made their way through a clearing in the trees so small she would hesitate to call it a clearing. But the sun was brighter, and the flowers noticeable among the other grasses and plants. She gathered a handful of leaves, their smell sharp and smelling of onion as she bruised a leaf - double checking that they were indeed bear leek. The leaves went into the cupped fabric of her shirt once she was satisfied, and she plucked a few of the flowers as well, for they were both pretty and edible. By the time she had finished her gathering, she hoped they were close to Aulisk's den as she didn't know how much longer her newfound energy would last.
