Seems the previous thread can't be posted in due to inactivity or something? So I'm bringing it back. _________________________________________________________________ Point of order: -PS5 price increase. Hawhawhawhaw. That $50 USD could be spent on a game, if it had any! -Piracy. It's wrong. And very cool. Don't do it. -Making this thread during a bot spam invasion so I imagine it'll be drowned out by credit card offers. _________________________________________________________________ Starting off: Recently got the Pico-8 for like $10. It's basically a 2D game creating shitpost "fantasy" console, aka a program. Tons of obscure old bulletin boards and such made games for it, I narrowed what I downloaded down to around ~765 games out of thousands of shitpost games. What's really cool IMO, is the games are "just" .PNGs. The .PNG will be the game's cart/cover, and is also the rom image. These are like, 20~50 KiB .PNGs.

It bills itself as an 8-bit style system. Games range from Atari 2600 to Game Boy Color in fidelity, though there are some really solid first person games. Even a port of Doom, Poom:tm:, that to my irritation is better than a lot of the CD console ports we got back in the day although only the first stage. Overall pretty cool, well worth the amount I could easily see getting a single intentionally "retro" style game on Steam.
