It's not my fault. I didn't touch it. Okay, maybe I did, but who could have known that this would happen? I was just curious, which makes sense when your dead cousin sends you a present for your 21st birthday, right? Anyone would have picked it up, looked at it, smelled it, licked it (okay, I admit that that one was a tiny bit weird). Everything went wrong as soon as I used the tools my dad had left behind to open the mysterious, little box. It was a disaster, and that's still an understatement. People suddenly showed up at my house. Way too many people, and I hate people. Some of them died only a couple of years ago, others came from a very distant past, and then there were also some people from the future. At first, the people that were chosen seemed very random. However, when I managed to fix the box I had broken, it showed the message that all lives had to gather for everyone to get back to their own timeline. According to the numbers it showed me, only one was missing. I tried clicking on it to get more information, and what the box showed me was shocking. The person that we were missing... was still alive! I soon realized that they all shared the same soul. They were each other's past, each other's future. Only the present life was missing. Since the box came from my dead cousin, he should be the one we are looking for. But how can I find him? He doesn't pick up his phone, and he's not at his home. Are there clues that I missed somehow? And the most important question of all: how do I make sure that the time travellers don't die? They aren't ghosts from a different time, they have human bodies that can get hurt. They need to stay together until I find my cousin, but they have such different personalities. And how do I keep them from getting into trouble? If they get arrested, I will never be able to fix my mistake. And with each day that passes, more and more problems appear. They get headaches, become nauseated. They get incredibly hungry. How do I keep them alive on my paycheck? Do I force them to work until I have the solution? Can they even function in this society that is so unfamiliar to them? Help. ~~~ I as the GM won't play a main character. I will write what happens to the time travellers the longer they stay in the present and I will play NPC's. Co-GM's are very welcome to share this role with. One player can choose to be the person from the present, looking for their cousin and trying to keep everyone alive and together. The other players can play characters from any moment in time. If more than one player chooses to be someone from the future, make sure that your two versions of the future make sense. You can't have one person writing about a future inspired by Jurassic World and then another person writing that one year later everything is going well as if nothing happened. Magic is not allowed, everyone is a human being. You are allowed and encouraged to be creative when imagining the future. That's why I included the Sci-Fi tag.
