I'm still interested. I would be interested in being a pixie/fairy, an elf, a selkie, or pooka (a shapeshifting fae that tends to favor being a black-furred horse) for the race. I'm not as sure what town in job I would interested in though. The new farmer in town is of course a classic and I could enjoy being a feyborn that's moved into town and is getting used to being able to not have to hide himself now. But it would also be fun to be the doctor/healer or a blacksmith. Or to fill in whatever position ends up being needed.
Any one of those jobs would work fine, go ahead and pick whatever you'd like XD.
I do want to be a Fairy, but I don’t know what job they’d have in the town. [s]Something fabulous no doubt[/s]
Like Cyrania said, a tailor would indeed be fabulous. Or a hair dresser. Or he could design and enchant glamour charms to allow people to look however they want. I'd imagine some younger people might use glamour charms even within Pixiewick just to show off different fashions and styles, or even cosplay. Maybe the RP picks up at the beginning of Summer and there is some kind of weekly festival that occurs on Saturday nights all Summer long and each Saturday is a different theme and everyone comes to your character to help design their costumes and/or glamour charms XD. Just one idea. Or your character could run an establishment like the Honey Bee Inn from Final Fantasy 7 XD. So to widen the idea more, I took the idea of it being a subterranean realm that connects through and built on that. The who's and why's is where the plot could come in or just more fleshing out of the Feyfolk - it had been done on purpose by Feyfolk who take offense at the humans breaking into their realm and see their land as something the Feyfolk could take now. So the character was 'taken' out of the deepest parts of the Fey realm into the human world on purpose to cause hysteria on purpose. I'm not sure how long ago the barrier/breaking into the Feyfolks realm would have happened but for races to have spawned I imagine it has been a long time? If so I can imagine it being an early case of Feyfolk taking offense at humans and being reasons for a stronger magical law enforcement between the Feyfolk and humans. As for the staying with a Feyborn living outside of Pixiewick, the character was kept away until she was deemed able to hold a glamour long enough to travel the long distance required to get back to Pixiewick and it has just taken a very long time due to the slow aging. If it's a bit too much though let me know :lol I can make something simpler I just like creating characters that have deeper backstory with plots in them to build off
The subterranean realm I mentioned is not a separate dimension or anything like that, it still exists in the physical world. My idea for it was that the miners were mining for more mithril and basically broke through a layer of rock and ended up in the underground realm. Until that happened, no one in Pixiewick knew there was an underground realm below the mines. As for the Feyfolk/Human mating, that happened in ancient times. We're talking many thousands of years ago. So elves, dwarves, gnomes, fairies, tieflings, minotaurs, etc. all have Human and Feyfolk ancestors. The bloodlines of these various magical races have been growing for millennia. To clarify further, in ancient times, all humans were Feyless (meaning no Fey blood or Fey powers). Then Feyfolk (magical beings that can assume humanoid form with reproductive organs) began mating with Feyless Humans, resulting in children that were the first Feyborn (Humans with magical powers, traits, and physical features as a result of their hybrid blood). This happened repeatedly over many centuries, which caused the hybrid bloodlines to spawn off into multiple new humanoid races, such as elves, dwarves, gnomes, fairies, tieflings, minotaurs, etc. As for the idea of Feyfolk taking offense to humans, that really isn't compatible with the setting, given that it was Feyfolk who mated with Feyless Humans and spawned off all the Feyborn. I realize now that I should have worded my explanation better about the underground realm. There is no magical barrier that separates the underground realm, the barrier mentioned is like a huge invisible energy shield over the entire Valley to conceal it from Feyless observers. The underground realm exists in the same physical world as Pixiewick and the Valley, it is just deeper underground than the mines. Like the Underdark from D&D or the Deep Roads from Dragon Age. The miners were in the mines trying to dig for more mithril and they broke through a layer of rock into the underground realm. Perhaps using "realm" is the wrong word, - a network of spacious caves and tunnels deeper than the mines. The existence of these caves is a recent discovery for the people of Pixiewick, the idea was that it was still a developing situation and that would give an option for characters to be there to investigate this new discover or protect people and animals from monsters coming out of the underground caves. So, the Feyless, Feyborn, and Feyfolk all exist in the same physical world, with some areas around the world concealed to keep out Feyless. Mithril Valley is one of those areas. Hopefully that clears stuff up XD. Now, having said that, what are your ideas for making your character better fit the setting?
