Her red hair hung around her in fluffy waves. Her militant outfit-tight black shirt stuffed into a pair of jogger cargo pants and boots loosely tied stood out against the pink of the room. Beside her on the desk sat a rifle, two pistols, shotgun, a few lighters, her phone, a small backpack, and pocket knives. She refused to be unarmed, even in her room, a reflection of the chaos in her mind she struggled to quiet. The racing thoughts of hearing Dom announce Logan’s death ran through her mind like her blood in her veins. The memory of the terrible night where the wardens betrayed her flashed through her mind’s eye. Then Dom and Logan came to save her while she was being ripped apart by rogue lycan. The years of hard work and dedication she’d put in to become as perfect of a warden as possible went down the tubes, as did her dreams of making a difference in this cruel world, even if it swallowed her whole. Try as she might, she tried to block it out. Soon, her hair was plastered to her face. She tugged at her hair and pieces began to fall onto the bed. She watched them, then began flickering the lighter obsessively, in an effort to quiet her mind. Why would a therapist recommend she fucking meditation when all it did was bring out the worst memories? What a crock of shit. Her phone rang and jolted her out of her reverie. The chorus of Safe and Sound caused her to grab her phone and read the text. A thrill washed through her as she recognized whom it belonged to: "I'm heading to see Vein Theory. Let me know if you head over." Tessa grinned and began hastily packing her backpack. She slung her rifle over her back and wiped her face. Her room was filled with many objects, but a mirror wasn’t it. Tessa hastily texted back she’d join Luther and quickly stocked her weapons into her pockets, brushed her hair and tied it back, and then fitted her eyepatch on safely. Twenty minutes later, Tess arrived in wolf form. She found an empty alleyway and changed back to her human form. She began to sniff out Luther and weave through the crowd. This time, instead of him seeking her out, she’d find him. It took her time since having one eye limited her vision, but eventually she did. Tessa came up behind him and poked him gently in the back, enough to announce her presence yet not trigger a frightened response. ”Guess who?” Her teasing voice was loud against the loud music. She greeted him with a wide smile and jumped into the seat beside him with ease. Her weapons shifted in her pockets. ”How’s my favorite Luther doing?”
