[indent][i] Sky grew up in East London in a cramped flat with his mum and almost nothing else. She worked two jobs just to keep the lights on. She loved her son, but didn’t really have the time or the energy to show it the way she should have. Sky was often left to raise himself. He was a loud, flamboyant kid in a world that didn’t have time or patience for boys like him. When teachers said he was “too much,” he made himself more. If people stared, he gave them something to stare at. The way he figured it, if he was going to be judged anyway, he might as well be fabulous.

School was a nightmare. He was bullied constantly. He was called names, shoved into lockers, mocked for how he talked, dressed, walked. He learned to weaponize his personality early. If he was going to survive, he had to be sharper, funnier, and louder than the people trying to tear him down. Still, deep down, it hurt. Every friend who ghosted him, every adult who looked the other way, every time someone treated him like he didn’t belong, it all stuck.

He loved fashion, but obviously didn’t have the money to buy the designer clothes he really wanted. So, he learned to make cheap look chic. He got good at finding ways to look expensive without spending anything. Whether that was customizing clothes he found at thrift store, or modifying the hand-me-downs he got to make them look like couture fashion, and the occasional five-finger discount. It started small: a tube of lip gloss, a pair of sunglasses, perfume testers. Not because he needed them, but because he deserved them. Because they made him feel like the person he wanted to be. The shoplifting became habit. An art form, really. His last big mistake? Trying to walk out of a designer boutique in a stolen coat. His excuse? “I was going to return it after my TikTok video went viral.” The judge didn’t find it quite as funny.[/i][/indent]
