No! This? NO! Where in the world- what in Aelios holy name is this?' The nobleman held up some piece of clothing which he couldn't even identify, he hurled it over his shoulder in his search for anything he could dress in. Was it just him or did the temple smell of fish? He could have sworn he felt it as he passed by the main chamber. It made the nobleman frown as he recalled his own experience with fish in the past.
[Flashback] "Argh! Why and how! Bite my hook already you idiotic water dwelling creature!" The noble boy yelled out in frustration as he pulled back the line on his fishing rod, the hook being empty and the bait having been stolen right under his noble watch. "How dare you insufferable river-raiders try to make a fool out of me!" Ayel yelled out angrily at the river before him, the older butler standing close-by sighing and watching the young master trying to excel at fishing. "Well? Clearly the bait wasn't secured enough on the hook. It has to be your fault, I know for a fact it couldn't be mine." He pouted and sat down on his portable noble chair, crossing his arms and looking at the river in clear dislike. "This was a dumb idea, who would even want to catch those silly legless creatures anyways." He cussed and grunted and brushed his attire, worried that some nearby tree had the audacity to shed a leaf on his dark pink attire. "Young master. Fishing is a game of patience and luck." The darkhaired butler with the slightly greying hair said in an encouraging manner. "How is that even making sense?! I am patient, we've been out here for almost… well certainly far too long. It's like twice the time it takes for me to finish dinner. Completely unacceptable. These stupid fishes should know better than to cross me. I have the best fishing rod coin can buy, and this hook was supposed to be the best? It looks to me that someone have attempted to scam me by selling me some peasant-made lousy craftmanship! I don't believe it! How could they do this to me! His highness would have brought home at least six big fishes at this amount of time. This is so humiliating." The boy grinded his teeth together and took off his hat, pressing his fingers into it in annoyance. This was not the kind of event that should befall successful, rich and beautiful people like himself. This was the sort of everyday story for those poor bastards who wished they were him. At least it were comforting that Flynn, his bestest of friends, the crown prince of Aurelia were not here to witness his apparent setback. Perhaps it were due to the butler being way too noisy with his big servant steps. After all, they were all trained to step loud so to announce their presence. A nobleman such as he, well… a noble boy... should not be caught unaware. "Perhaps young lord, you should try to be more quiet, the fish are sensitive to sounds and are easily spooked. Here. Let me hook on some new bait, and keep the rod raised high and the line straight so you can see if they are nibbling on the bait. Don't pull right away, wait until they hook themselves." The butler explained as he prepared Ayel's fishing rod and hook again, throwing the bait and hook out far and then handing the noble boy his fishing rod again. "Tsk. I know that already! I mean… ofcourse I would know that. I wasn't taught in a peasant academy. The fish is probably just not accustomed to refined voices such as mine, perhaps they just bit his highness' hook because they heard him talk. I told him not to speak with those filthy and unclean peasant children by the gate. But no no, he wouldn't listen. I am always right. Quite amazing that I know better what's best for my friend than he does for himself. Then again. I am quite amazing. Hmph!" Ayel scoffed and kept his gaze at the river, as if daring the fish to bite the hook, or try steal the bait again. He would certainly not lose a battle against a creature which were as dumb as those fabled mountain-apes to the north he had heard rumors about. Some kind of half-human creatures that the Aurelian kingdom were not on the best of terms with. "Certainly young master, you are amazing at anything you put your mind into. Remember to always believe in yourself no matter what undertaking or hardship that may come your way. Even unexpected events and setbacks, it will all solve itself in the end." The butler smiled slightly, reaching out to try pat Ayel on the head. "I trust you are just trying to offer shade and not touch my hair? Mother had the stylist work on it for hours. It must not be altered. In fact you could find yourself unemployed if you did. Stupid mother not coming here to see me defeat these river monstrocities but instead staying at home looking over my dumb brother chasing flying caterpillars and that wrapped up little crying monster that she insist would be my sister. She doesn't even have the same haircolour as me! Prepost... preporstous." Ayel grunted and looked to the butler in annoyance. "Preposterous. Young master." The older butler said with a soft smile. "That's what I said! Did I fucking stutter? Don't try to act smug! Ah why in the world did mother send you to accompany me? Well I suppose it cannot be helped. She is clearly having a mental breakdown. Well at least you can tend to my every need and hook whatever that bait is." The young boy tried to console himself, after all who were better to do that. "As you wish. Your mother loves you very much young master, as does your father. More than you could ever imagine. Both have great hopes that you will achieve great things in life and become greater than your peers." The butler leaned down next to the chair to get on eye level with the young lord. "Pfah! Yes right. My father is more busy being fat and pandering to my idiotic brother who cannot distinguish between a turtle and a stone. Why must life be so unfair! ARGH! Bite the damn hook already you stupid river pests!" The boy screamed in anger at the river as the hook got stuck in a log underwater. "I got it! I got one! Now you are mine!" He pulled and pulled. "Young master! Wait not soo much you may have-" The rod recoiled and the hook flew through the air and sizzled past Ayel's face. The young boy exclaimed in horror. "Cheated again! ARGH! It almost hit me in the face! Imagine the damage it could have done. This is clearly not a sport for nobles." He concluded and pulled the line with his rod, trying to get the hook back to dangle in front of him. "Stop! Young master! Oww oww!" The butler cried out as said hook had latched itself into his cheek, his well worn hands reaching to grab the line. "What?! Wha- What do you think you are doing? Give me back my hook!" Ayel demanded before the butler took the rod out of his hand and began to work to get the hook out of his cheek. "Rude." The young noble said in a soft voice to himself as he crossed his arms and pouted. [Flashback over]
He mentally lamented as he had finally found a robe, it was way too small for him. 'Is this for a child? It must belong to that girl which Aelios used as a medium to assist me out of the water...' The nobleman concluded, nodding his noble head for added confidence in himself being right. Again. As he was pondering his next course of action, he heard a voice from behind. He was being called upon. In the correct mannerism even. "What?! Can't you see that I am very busy right- What?" He said aloud, blinking with his eyes. His noble ears twitching. The ever aware nobleman felt a sudden rise of panic. No not panic. Noble's were refined and in control and couldn't panic. He wasn't surprised neither, that would imply that his perception were lacking. He was ambushed! That was the right word. "Ahh!" He yelped as he reached for the nearest thing he could find, which appeared to be a portrait of two blonde girls, strikingly similar to the servant woman who had a goat-like twin. He swiftly moved the portrait to conceal his crown jewels from view. "Ehh? Ah? L-lady Hi-Hightower? Aha! What a pleasure- I mean great fortune! This is- This is an outrage! I have been robbed! The temple has been robbed! I am searching for the burglar-thief! He stole my clothes, and broke in here and then he turned into a weasel!" The nobleman motioned in a very hastily manner with his free hand and arm, pointing to the various opened dressers and wardrobe. "I was on his trail- He must have snuck out the moment you opened the door!" Ayel placed his free hand on his forehead as if trying to come up with the next thing to say, but his pattern of thought were disturbed by another voice as guardsman Kale had appeared. "What now?! No, no no! Quiet! Shut! La la la! I am not listening~ Do I come by the stables or the latrine and bother you while you are working?! Can't you see that -I- am trying to talk to this esteemed lady here and that some underhanded lunatic have robbed me of my attire! And then entered here to steal who knows what else! On your watch no less! You are the one who has alot of gall and no brain! I shall write a very strongly worded letter to his highness about this! Rest assured. In fact! Where's the proof of your innocense? What if you are in cahoots with this shapeshifting thief? Returning to the crime scene to remove evidence no doubt! Did you see him when you entered Lady Hightower?" Ayel pointed his accusing finger at Kale, momentarily forgetting his state of undress as he motioned with the portrait holding hand towards Eris before moving it back to cover himself. It could have been alot worse. He could have been dirty. At least people could take in all of him in this moment would they desire to. And why wouldn't they? He also would not be held accountable for simply looking for a temporary attire after his day was so unjustly wronged by some wretched barbarian. This guardsman seemed like he would be the perfect scapegoat. Perhaps this was also a test of Aelios to test his craftiness and problem solving capabilities. He would get dressed. He would get to tell Flynn the tale how he was attacked in the Aelios temple and then his newly made up story about fending off and chasing a thief. This were quite the heroic tale alltogether he had to admit to himself. Perhaps some almost-good for nothing bard could actually sing a song about this kind of bravery. Not every day a man would stand naked for the world and come out winning. Then again. He was just that good. At least what he could tell. Kale [@Theyra], Mrs Raunefeldt [@The Muse]
