Fujiwara no Mokou & Sectonia
Level 6 58/60 EXP Location: the Midnight Walk (2.4) Wordcount: 1282(+3 EXP) Mokou found herself sitting on top of the stagecoach as it moved quite a lot, especially as the convoy moved around. Yet now, she was up on it not to relax, but to ponder. It was strange, but it felt like a fog had been lifted from her mind, allowing Mokou to remember… Well, everything. Each memory of the forest that she had resided in, the land of Gensokyo as a whole… As well as the brief moments where everything was engulfed in light. Even with her mind clear, she could not remember the source of the light… Mainly because she knew that the source lay beyond the forest where she had been subsumed. Even still, Mokou didn’t freak out at the realization that her life in this world was a lie. Instead, she simply stared at her hand, a small flame burning within it. She simply thought, letting the fire dance between her fingers. After a while however, Mokou let out a sigh, rising to her feet and casually hopping down from the top of the stagecoach, hands in her pockets as she approached the first person she saw: The massive, bug-like queen known as Sectonia, “Hey. Bothering you a moment: Wanted to ask some questions about…” the phoenix pauses for a moment, figuring out the right words to say, “... This whole journey that you folks are on. That robot did something to me that they called ‘friend hearting’, and got more questions now that my head’s cleared up.” ”Hm? Ah yes, I suppose that would be confusing.” Sectonia said, looking at their next destination with disdain as it was just as ruined as everywhere else. ”So many people have been freed that it feels like someone would give the explanation. ” Sectonia mused for a bit, since this took her sight off the ugly tower in front of her. ”I suppose I can enlighten you. Although you’ll owe me a favor in the future. Nothing horrible or terrible, and maybe you’ll pay it back without knowing some day if you're proven to be loyal. I do know the most about what is going on out of every seeker here, so you can try your luck with another if you want but I wouldn’t recommend it.” Setonia said with mild amusement. She was bored until now, so might as well have a bit of fun with things. Mokou’s eyebrow rises for a brief moment, before she shrugs, “Favors, alright. I can work with that, as long as you don’t ask me for something stupid like immortality” she says, leaning on the stagecoach’s side. That got a bit more of a laugh from Sectonia than probably what Mokou was expecting. ”Oh I've figured that one out already.” She then put back on her more stoic face as she began to explain. ”Well, first, if you look to the sky you’ll see a winged sun coiled in rainbows. Our overall goal is to kill that thing, which created this world from a conglomeration of all worlds it seems. To do this, we need to slay its guardians and take their power for our own. From what I can tell, everyone can only take in a single guardian, but they are very powerful spirits for a reason. There are other groups of interest that seem to be ‘helping’ on our mission such as the Organization XIII, however they have questionable motives at best and are probably looking to steal Galeem’s power for their own. The other group, the Consuls, are individuals that are opposed to our mission and try to defend the guardians.” She looked to see if Mokou was still paying attention until she got into the consuls. ”Signified with a letter as a name, they seem to be outside of the ‘spirit’ system and have strong powers of their own to compensate, however once defeated they vanish without a trace. And considering the ‘system’ seems to recycle spirits every 10 years, being removed from it means their complete erasure. They claim a power named “Mobeus”, and regain their energy through Flame Clocks, items that fill up based on the conflict of the area that seem to give life to the area. But without any ability for us to take one to investigate or break them so far, thats just speculation and they could be harming areas they are in instead.” Mokou nods along, letting Sectonia explain before she ultimately narrows her eyes, bringing a hand out to hold her chin as she thought, “... Following along, but explain more of these Consuls and spirits. Namely, how they’re erased… As well as this ‘recycling’” she turns away from the distant winged sun, her red eyes holding a focused intensity that was very much unlike her normal casualness, “I can presume that I, much like everyone else, am subjected to this resetting. Otherwise I would have memories of it. Which tells me that this ‘Sun’ has the ability to bypass the Horai Elixir's grip on eternity.” ”From what I understand, each person has a ‘10 year’ limit before they get ‘reset’, and without the friend heart apparently we’re under the whim of Galeem and the Consuls, the former able to control those Galeem’d. And yes, this apparently bypasses anything any of us have to ‘extend’ life. As for the spirits, when you kill someone, you gain their spirit. Depending on what you do with it, it will influence how you look, but you’ll gain more of the former spirit’s power. Crushing it will spawn an item, of which I can improve what you gain. You can try to bond with the spirit to summon it in battle, but your limited to 2. Finally you can put the spirit within yourself which changes how you look but lets you gain its powers. We have some methods to minimize this. Do note the ratio of male to female spirits. If you put too many of one into you, your gender will change as well.” The final addition causes Mokou to raise an eyebrow, but she nods, “I see. So it still requires killing…” she mutters to herself before sighing, placing her hands back into her pockets, “Well, I thought if I could somehow replicate these Consul’s ability to not return from destruction, I could finally have an answer to my own problem. But I suppose it can’t be helped” the phoenix immediately returns to a slouching stance, looking back at the Queen, her focused expression having faded, “So, this Baldur fellow must be a Consul as well, huh? Or is he just a servant they send out to cause problems?” ”Or the Guardian, or just a strong spirit in general. We wont know until we see them.” Sectonia said. ”I’d prefer the Guardian, as it would be another step to fixing this 10 year limit thing.” Mokou nods once again, kicking the floor idly as she lets out a sigh, “Right. Well, everything I’ve heard about him tells me that I’m not gonna like him, so it’ll be nice to put him in the dirt” with that she rolls her shoulders, glancing back at the ruined city that was their destination, “... I think I’ve got the gist of the situation. But, just need a little time to process. I’ll be back before you all leave” the phoenix turns around, giving the Queen a small wave before she leaps into the air, her fiery wings sprouting from her back to allow her to launch herself into the sky and towards the city.
