He helped out his father at the garage when he was home from school, teaching his little sister and trying to help his best friend Tye from making a big life-changing decision he's likely to regret. Nothing extraordinary ever happens within El Paso, the most interesting recent change being that Kord Industries has recently opened a brand new state of the art facility in the town, opened by Ted Kord himself. Promising innovation and financial growth for the small town. 

In the middle of the night, Jaime was skating across the parking lot to get to Tyes house when he heard noises from the top floor of the facility. Looking up in awe, his eyes widened in fear as he noticed beams of energy lancing out, windows shattered and broken as stuff fell from the top floor. Hints of white, black, blue and gold. Until eventually, there was an explosion, a scalding small blue object came crashing from the window. It seemed to glint and glisten in the dark night, as he picked it up it felt cool to the touch. Legs unfurled from beneath it, as it crawled along his arm. A shooting pain as it clawed its way into his back. The last thing he remembers.[/color]

[color=DAA520]Sam is a normal teenager from Carefree Arizona. He grew up with stories of his dad, known locally as the most inept janitor in the history of Carefree High. As he grew older, Sam started to realise that his dads stories were just stories. A mighty space warrior, travelling the galaxy fighting aliens by the side of other aliens. Soldiers enlisted and chosen to be the protectors of truth, liberty and justice throughout the cosmos. It was very clear that his father was just trying fill his head with wonder and excitement. 

One bad day, his dad disappeared. Just vanished. His mother told everyone he wouldn't just abandon them, he wouldn't just leave his wife and children. Nobody believed her; everyone thought that all the nonsense in his head, the stolen valour, had finally pushed him into doing something stupid. Over time, Sam too came to believe it until, one day, while out skateboarding (without a helmet), Sam fell and ended up in the hospital. When he awoke, at the foot of his bed stood a dog in a spacesuit. Head trauma hallucinations were weird. [/color]

With Jaime and Sam I want to tell two origin stories, intertwined and bound together. Two very different tales. Jaime is going to have to combat with the prospect of being a tool of the Reach, whereas Sam is going to have to deal with his missing father and the legacy that he left behind as a Nova.

No problem at all! I think we’ve RP’d together enough times now for me to know you’ll cook up something good with this anyway. Definitely accepted and I’m looking forward to reading what you come up with for imo 2 of the most underrated comic characters around.
