The concept of having pairs be played by, well, literal pairs is interesting but would invite its own hurdles as you've mentioned. How do you imagine pairing digimon with digidestined, at random or on an agreed-upon basis where we pick our own partners?

For myself I wouldn't mind the human half of the dynamic, but am perfectly happy to accomodate to even out the teams by playing a digimon and all that.
