I'm honestly fine with either so I guess it depends on how things turn out.

I [i]do[/i] have a (really really vague) concept for the wild one at least, which is they were originally an "evil" mega that got knocked down to rookie and is teaming up with the humans (referring to them as "minions" or something like that) to try and rebuild their lost power, probably gets inspired by the powers of friendship and love and whatnot and ends up being "redeemed" when they eventually regain their mega level.

Admittedly it could also work as a partner, albeit with a somewhat vitriolic, dare I say "tsundere" relationship with their tamer but again, we'll see how things turn out since I'm not 100% sure about this idea so far.
