This is such a tough question!! When I first started RPing I used to create OCs and use the same handful of characters and just recycle/retool them as needed. But for the past... 10-15 years or so, give or take, I've been one of those who creates new characters for every RP. Which makes choosing a favorite VERY difficult, not only because there are so fucking many, but because my memory is awful and I feel like if I commit to one as a "favorite" I'm probably forgetting someone even better XDD

HOWEVER-- a few years ago I came up with a pair of brothers vying for the affections of the same woman in a Regency-era setting. I was [i]obsessed[/i] with these two. They (of course) had a really interesting, involved backstory involving a rivalry for their father's love, resulting in the elder brother [i]despising[/i] the younger (who was the father's favorite), while the younger brother admired and adored his older brother unconditionally. There was also consumption (older bro), alcoholism (younger bro), rakishness, PTSD, dishonorable discharge from the military, and a whole lot more. That RP didn't last very long, but it was SO GOOD while it lasted. I have been trying to recycle/retool those two ever since, but it's never been quite right.

Honorable mention to my batshit crazy vaguely steampunk coke-addicted amputee doctor/surgeon with a maniacal hatred for normies. lmfao He was only ever really a side character from what I remember but he was [i]fuuuuuun[/i].

Lastly, I've been gelling incredibly well with one of my current partners, and they've inspired me to create multiple characters that I've been enjoying immensely-- such as ex-con with a checkered past turned makeup artist + fashion photographer, overly emotional firefighter teddy bear man, and disabled former pro-athlete turned small-town kingpin. Among so many others tbh. XD
