The main mental image I have of them is 'humanoid dragon', like Dragonborn from D&D mostly, as an easy example.

That makes sense.  And yeah, the artist really did good work on this piece.  I plan to use these two as siblings.

I've had a chance to read over the RP, and yeah, this looks interesting.  Actually, the theme running through my head at the moment is Exosquad.  The mechsuits are about that size, and the backdrop - apart from the inclusion of aliens - could be similar to the show.  And considering that the show focused alot on war, race, loss, intrigue, vengeance, romance, and even a bit of terror, that's a good parallel to draw from, I think.  Anyway, I like this.

Yeah, I must admit; I did realise that there was a bit of Exo Squad in there too, albeit unconsciously - another one to add in to my inspirations I suppose...! 
I'm glad you like the idea, and I'm looking forward to getting started on it too. I'm working on getting the full OOC up as soon as I can.

Yeah, you'll probably need something a bit more... anthro than the art you used there, as the animal-ish races are a lot more 'furry' than 'nekomimi'.
