I really wish he'd smile more. I tried telling him he looks good with a "dad bod", but I'm not sure if he acknowledged I was trying to cheer him up. I can't say I blame him, though. After everything he's been through, I wouldn't have much to smile about either. William Birkin the monster, William Birkin the mad scientist. But, there's also William Birkin the husband, William Birkin the father. By no means am I diminishing his involvement in the Raccoon City incident. There's no changing what he did. But, that also doesn't change that he's as much a victim as he is a contributor. When I told him about what had happened, he took it hard. Losing his wife, being estranged from his daughter, being responsible for countless lost lives due to poor choices and being unable to control his actions as a rampaging abomination. And, yet, that's not the person I've been working with for these past few days. Sure, he's most definitely no longer human. Lord knows it took me a while to get used to that shoulder-eye just staring at me. Being around him makes me happy. Makes me feel things I haven't felt in forever. Truth is...I love him. I love him and I can't tell him. He's still mourning over Annette. And, I don't want to break his heart again.

They want us to clone him? That monster? Are they insane? Yes, Steve and Birkin were dangerous, but they also lacked control over their actions prior to cloning. But, him? He's just a disaster waiting to happen. I don't care what the higher-ups say. It's far too great of a risk. If they want to clone Albert Wesker, that's entirely on them. Leave me out of it.
