Just a strained silence lingered in the air as the gathered men took nervous glances at one another as a light tapping begun to resound through the room. The Weeping closed his eyes in thought which probably would have unnerved those in front of him more since if it wasn't for the tapping that showed he wasn't moving amongst them. The men all shuddered and winced as a sudden explosion of light showered the room with a dim glow. The Weeping now stood visible to them. One of them begun doing the symbol of the cross across his chest. Only the old drunk had ever seen him up close. A frown was plastered across The Weeping's features. He allowed the claws of his own hand to drag across the desk as he listened to the sound of the scraping of the wood. "There is only one who might bring the department or the cops upon us." He allowed the words to sink as his eyes drifted between the men. Some were obviously more nervous about this than others. Some had more shady deals while others were just trying to survive. Garrett cleared his throat as he rubbed his balding scalp. "Do we need to be worried?" The Weeping shook his head. "I don't think so. The police and those in power have ignored this place for decades. Only coming here when money or someone needs to be silenced is involved." His clawed hand splintering and leaving a deep gash on the top of the desk. "From what I have heard no one has cared about the mistreated and forgotten of the Melting Pot since the Defenders disbanded." The reminder of this fact seemed to stir the men slightly and decrease some of the fear. "Even if someone does show. It'll be the same standard procedure that you all have done even before I came." "Ignorance." The man with dreads chimed in. The Weeping nodded a smile slowly crept across his face though it didn't reach his eyes. "Exactly. It isn't the law or any of those heroes that worry me." The image of Amara flashed in The Weeping's mind, and he rolled his shoulders. Feeling the tension leave them he shut the light off allowing the darkness to return. "You are all dismissed. I have other business to attend to." His words disturbed the darkness, and The Weeping left the men alone in the darkness as he came out of the darkness and entered into another now finding himself at the entrance of an ally way. His eyes searching before landing on the bent piece of rebar and the lack of thug he had left behind. Seems the man had been removed. Good. One less loose end to tie up.
