Victoria van Dyne

Location: Contestant's hotel Skills/equipment: N/A
In no time at all, Vicky covered the distance and hovered down to the Hotel's door, touching down with barely a click of the heels. Judging by the lack of classmates waiting there and scratching their heads in a lack of direction, it looked like Sabine had things handled for now. Onto her own errand first then. "Oh, by the way. Stay away from room 0221. Apparently there is some hefty magic protecting it. Let me know if you need anything. Their system is connected and old, it should be easy to hack if the experience from the 202X ransomware attacks are anything to go by." she sent over to Sabine, before entering the hallway and looking for the room the MacLeods sent her to. A short walk later, she found the room. Checking that nobody was around and no camera was pointing her way, she tried the knob. To her astonishment, the door opened. She expecter the rooms to be locked even if they were vacant. Not going to look a gifted horse in the mouth tho. The room was a disaster. The bed over turned, the cheap dresser smashed to bits, the door to the restroom on its hinges and the faint hiss of water beyond it suggested the was faucet left open. The only the thing in the room that seemed untouched was the night stand - bare of anything but the gem. Huh. Weird even by wizard standards. Not important yo the objective though. From what she was told, it was the antimagic field surrounding her that was the key selling point in sending her. Maybe noone else could even percieve the room and it was here for who knew how long? Still, she proceeded carefully towards the nightstand, all sensors sharp, scanning the gem to match it with the record she had from the mission briefing. Lo and behold, the gem was a perfect match down to the smallest facet. I can only wish some of the teachers defined what to do for homework this precisely. she chuckled mentally, reaching out for the gem. The gem flared up, scorch marks appearing on the wooden desktop below it. Vicky's eyes could track the magic try to crawl up her arm, but there was no damage notification, or even a trickle of extra power from her skin's converter function. After a while, the darn thing settled back down and allowed itself to be pocketed without setting Vicky's jacket on fire. One task done, she checked that nothing else was on fire and left, closing the door behind her. Time to find her wayward classmates.
