Since a few people have PMe'ed me -- you can be any humanoid race you like, so long as it's reasonable. No outer space mind eaters or anything but common/uncommon races in a standard fantasy setting are all good. You can add your race to your Name / Age / Gender / Race section.

For non-human races (particularly Drow) you will be more noticeable in towns and distrusted in small villages, but adventurers are an odd sort to common folk anyway. All the more reason to prove your greatness. There may also be settlements that are predominantly dwarven or halfling ect.
