LOTM is a rather popular chinese novel series with a theme around cosmic mysteries in a steampunk victorian setting. There exists ppl called beyonders who by drinking certain potions can gain a fragment of the essence of divinity.

These characters go from simple: I can run faster and stronger than average humans at sequence 9 (lowest sequence) all the way to: I am the king of space and time, can "fool" fate, time and destiny, modify history to make certain events always have been the case so on at sequence 0(basically a god and highest sequence)
