It was only a moment before suddenly Rain was upon both of them. He was looking at Quiver with an intensity even a bit more fierce than a look he'd wear during sparring. In his hands he held a crab - undoubtedly the dangerous culprit of Daphne's fierce attack. "Keep your claws off Daphne" he said, but it was Quiver he was looking at. Quiver felt heat blossom in his face - this time the kind that came with irritation, and growing anger. Quiver meant to say something, a snap of his own, something witty and vicious, but hesitated. Am I threat to you, now? Quiver watched Rain say something to Daphne, and then he was off, shuffling up the beach. Now you take me seriously... Quiver cleared his throat, aware that he probably looked like he was itching for a fight while his rival's girlfriend was still clasped around his shoulders. "You know, if that crab had pinched me instead, I don't think Rain would have gotten here quite as fast." He leaned down (he didn't have to go far) and helped her back onto solid enough ground. He smiled at her, and noticed a look in her eyes. Concern? Worry? He froze for a moment. He had thought this situation was more about him, but he was just really a collateral piece. And now he wondered if Daphne was concerned for trouble for herself. "I needed the help - I burn easily. Brooding in the dark too much, you know how it is. And those hard to reach places, you know how they....go."
