She wasn’t particularly looking forward to teaching children - and she was skeptical that this camp wouldn’t have some sort of agenda behind it, given its government ties. Neither was she thrilled about the idea of being in the woods with her brother and Demi, given the way they could barely keep their hands off each other when she was in the car with them. But she did like forests - loved them, really. The energy here was different from the city - more grounded, more intentioned. She had the sudden urge to take off her shoes and curl her toes into the dirt, to abandon the trail and chart a new one, to see how many constellations she could name in the stars at night. The allure of nature was shattered, however, as the most ostentatious car she’d ever seen pulled up, Queen blasting. Her eyes widened and she whistled appreciatively. It was ridiculous, but beautiful at the same time - not as beaten down as the jeep, and maybe not as loved, but still stunning. The boy driving it, she could’ve done without. She’d already clocked the fact that there was only one other girl here. Hopefully her resting facial expression of general annoyance and judgment kept the boys from thinking she was too approachable. And hopefully they were all as bent as Demi was. ”Bitchin’ ride,” she offered, however, before returning her attention to the people she knew - to Demi and Zeke. As Demi asked what happened when it got dark, she chuckled slightly. It was a new moon, too - a time for setting intentions, for new beginnings - and more practically for them, a time without any light. ”That’s when the cultists come out to bleed you dry. They’ll blame it on wild animals to keep the locals from getting spooked.” She paused for a moment, before eyeing Dobbs. “We don’t need to worry about cannibals, at least.”
