It can work, yes.

Note again that you get your powers in the IC itself; my plan is for you guys to spend one IC day as ordinary students, then sleep, then have individual Quests you have to succeed in to get your powers.

Oh, right, and you can fail those Quests, but if you do, you get unlimited retries. Also, failing the first Quest isn't really easy; it takes three [i]achieved[/i] Quests before the difficulty ramps up.
