Emma was born on her family’s farm in St. Lawrence County, New York. Emma—who idolized her police officer Mother—became enamoured with the childish idea of being a hero of justice who defends the helpless. Growing up, Emma was a stickler-for-the-rule do-gooder who was not afraid to say her mind. She was that kid who would remind the teacher that they had homework or someone who would tell people that they’re the ones at fault for their own mess if she thinks so—of course, she is also quick to lend her help. Nevertheless, her rather ‘fiery’ personality makes her a bit hard to get along with and she can be rather awkward in social situations, she could typically converse socially well enough, however for more intimate settings she can come across harsher than intended. Eventually she mellowed as she grew older, and by the time she was in high school, rather than the overbearing rule stickler, she was the kind an popular model student trusted by students and teachers.

After High School, Emma decided to enroll in NYPD Police Academy to follow in her mother's footsteps. Not long after enrolling however, tragedy struck and in an accident, her family perished in a fire that engulfed their house. Nevertheless, Emma decided to persevere and continued her study, applying for scholarship and working part time. Emma following in her mother's footsteps was something her family was proud of, and thus, fulfilling that dream would be the best way for her to honour them.

While she was working part-time to help cover living costs, she ended up meeting an old acquaintance from high school who also worked in the same café. They never got along well in high school due to her being a straight-A honor student and him being a delinquent who didn’t even bother continuing his education in college, but opposites do attract and one thing leads to another and she ended up with a child by the time she was 20. It was out of wedlock and she had not even graduated, but they decided to marry and keep the child, with Emma having to give up her dream and dropped out to take care of the child, opting to pursue a business degree from university offering online courses. It was a rough patch at first, but they made it work, as her husband ended up inheriting the cafe he worked part time in due to how much the owner valued him. 

Unfortunately, while opposites attract, it doesn’t necessarily keep things together. About 4 years into the marriage, they went their separate way after one too many fights, with Emma winning custody. They separated in cordial terms, still talked to each other, and pooled their money together to pay for tuition and whatnot, and especially since their daughter is still fond of both they met quite frequently as friends, so it was not all bad.

By the time Emma is 28, she actually feels her life is on the right track. She’s financially stable, working for a rising tech start-up making huge profits as a personal assistant to the CEO,  and she even made the divorced parent thing work with her ex by having a cordial relationship where their daughter often visits her dad. Life is good, at least until she was summoned to another world.

It was a chance for her to realise her childhood dream, and yet...she could not wish for them to defeat the demons as soon as possible so she could return back to her daughter.

As angel, Emma's becomes a conduit for a deity of Mer that is the embodiment of light and righteous fury when using her angelic power, that is, when her halo is manifested. Manifesting her halo for a prolonged time can cause Emma's mental state to be affected, becoming prone to zealous anger against demons and those perceived to be evil acts.

[u]Archetype: Paladin[/u]
Paladins serve as beacons for their allies within the chaos of battle. While deadly opponents of evil, they can also empower goodly souls to aid in their crusades. Their holy magic and martial skills also make them well suited to defending others and blessing the fallen with the strength to continue fighting.

[u]Mythic Path: Angel[/u]
The mythic power that was granted to Emma by the god that brought her to Mer was that of an angel. Upon being summoned, wings grew from her back, a holy sword uniquely suited to slay demons appeared in her hand, and she gains the ability manifest a halo. As an angel, the holy magic she can use as a Paladin becomes stronger in addition to being bestowed powers unique to an angel.

Holy light emitted by the halo envelops allies in its presence, providing them protection against demons that becomes more powerful the more Emma's mythic power grow.

[u]Halo of Principalities[/u]
Invoking the authority of heavenly light, an angel forces evil-aligned entities to obey her. Those with weak willpower will immediately become frightened of Inquisitor and obey her command. Those with stronger willpower can resist, but may find themselves moving sluggishly and being weakened from actively resisting her command. As Emma grew in mythic power, so does the force of the compulsion.

[u]Halo of Powers[/u]
Allies in presence of the halo will find their wounds heal, while demons will find themselves burned. The higher the mythic level the greater the magnitude.

[b]Level 5[/b]
[u]Halo of Virtues[/u]
Virtues are angels in charge of nature's elements, thus hostile elemental magic becomes weakened if cast in Emma's presence.

[u]Halo of Dominions[/u]
In addition to demoralising demons and bolstering allies' morale, Halo of Virtues grant allies resistances against mental-altering magic and demons with weak willpower will flee or freeze in fear.

[b]Level 7[/b]
[u]Halo of Thrones[/u]
Gain the ability to summon a 'Throne of Light' a flying wheel of flame that Emma can ride on. The wheel of flame is nearly invulnerable to demonic attacks and can shoot powerful holy flames that are especially effective against them.

[b]Level 8[/b]
[u]Halo of Cherubim[/u]
Gain the ability to summon an army of angelic allies who will descend on the battlefield to aid Emma in battle.

[b]Level 9[/b]
[u]Halo of Seraphim[/u]
Gain the ability to summon 'Kingdom of Light', a flying fortress similar to the 'Throne of God' that are nigh invulnerable to demons and capable of burning them with holy fire. The fortress glow with holy light, increasing the reach of Emma's halo up to 1 km radius.

[b]Level 10[/b]
[u]Heaven's Light[/u]
Emma is transfigured into the embodiment of heavenly authority. Her armour shifts into a vestment of pure Light, flowing cloth and radiant metal of sunlight. Garbed in this holy regalia, she may walk through the demon's world itself and know she is the one that has the upper hand. During the initial transformation, a burst of light is released, dispelling evil magics and making it harder for evil supernatural powers to be activated, while weak demons instantly turned to ash. While on this form, Emma's martial prowess and her holy magic are amplified, deadly to even the most powerful of demons if they suffer a fatal blow. Emma may also choose to manifest the holy power of the regalia as a 12-meter radius pillar of flame that descends from heaven, burning those she consider her enemies but harmless to those she does not intend to harm, wielding the power in this way ends the transfiguration immediately.
