The thing about large robots was, well, large and made entirely of resilient materials. If this was to start moving of its own accord, there was no bigger threat to their safety: collapsing ruins and environmental hazards could accidentally get you, but they didn't have a known habit of chasing you to make sure you were paste and a map of the area. It might be a construction robot, but you never knew if programming had gotten muddled down the line and it thought it was now a combat model. Curiously, the uneven corrosion suggested that the robot had been mobile and active more recently than anything else… perhaps maintenance work? And its power source was the tank… "It seems this robot has moved more recently than anything else here. Perhaps if the leaking tube was temporarily sealed, it would reactivate and we could guide it. Or it might simply repair the door of its own accord, dependant upon its programming."
