A more serious than 'fake news' answer to the Warbird Program and the wider US Government not detecting every alien arrival is just alien tech being a lot better than whatever nonesense they've scraped together on Earth. 

Of course I am very happy to rp interactions with Carol being deployed to intercept arrivals, but I'd never want to suggest it was a barrier to anyone's plots.
