I personally think that's largely an excuse people use for games to die, the few multi year games on the server at the moment largely (maybe even entirely I just don't trust that I am being exhaustive) have discords as do the most active by post count. I don't think it has ever had as much impact on whether or not a game works as people have presumed.

That said as I mentioned I don't think it is [i]required[/i] either, just a thought given we had someone struggling with keeping up with ooc chatter.

Which ironically this probably isn't helping.
