I think there's great potential and I am already theory crafting by myself how to develop it further, however I can't really do that if you walk back previously agreed changes. It could be that you missed it or forgot, and I am not blaming you for it, but it really reads like carelessness to me and Magic of all things should not be introduced into the setting in a careless way.
