Figured I'd try my hand at GMing a Power Rangers RP again. Up to nine teenage characters are chosen by the Cosmic Crystal, an ancient opalescent sphere that houses incredible cosmic powers from the earliest eras of the universe. 

[i][color=f7941d]The Cosmic Crystal was originally watched over by three goddess-like sisters: Xerxarya, Xalandia, and Xuatheona. But when Xalandia's wife was tragically killed by monsters from the Demon Realm, she wanted to rely on the Crystal's powers to resurrect her. Xerxarya and Xuatheona refused to let Xalandia use the Crystal for something so unnatural as reversing death. However, Xalandia did it anyway when they weren't looking, and brought her wife Sarithia back to life. But Sarithia was... different. Quicker to anger. Prone to darker thoughts. She gradually succumbed to demonic corruption and transformed into the Dark Queen Mephista. 

Once Mephista gathered an army of monsters from the Demon Realm and tried to take the Cosmic Crystal for herself, the three sisters united to fight her. Unfortunately, both Xerxarya and Xuatheona died in the battle. Mephista nearly killed Xalandia as well, but hesitated when she was about to deliver the final attack. Xalandia used this opening to call upon the Cosmic Crystal to undo the resurrection, something she had desperately hoped to avoid, still believing she could redeem her wife. But after seeing her sisters killed, Xalandia realized that Sarithia had been completely consumed by the Mephista persona. 

The Cosmic Crystal was unable to fully reverse the resurrection because Mephista's soul had become anchored to the Demon Realm. Thus, she ended up trapped there in a state of deep slumber between life and death. And with no way to communicate with their Dark Queen, Mephista's monster armies fled back to the Demon Realm. Xalandia learned her lesson and did not try to revive her sisters. She had a funeral for them, and then went on to explore the universe as the sole guardian of the Cosmic Crystal. 

Ten thousand years later, old age is finally beginning to creep up on Xalandia. She has chosen Planet Earth for her retirement, and has been posing as a Madam Xalandia, a gypsy and fortune teller in Angel Grove, a suburb of Los Angeles. She wants to find new, younger guardians for the Cosmic Crystal, and that search is amplified when she begins to sense Mephista awakening once more...[/color][/i]

Our characters would all be teenagers and students about to start their senior year at Angel Grove High School. The story would begin at the End of Summer Festival in Angel Grove's Forest Park, where they spot Madam Xalandia's gypsy caravan among other wagons and food carts. She has a sign up offering services as a fortune teller, and is using the Cosmic Crystal as a crystal ball to tell peoples' fortunes. But in reality, she is searching for her successors. Each time she performs fortune telling for someone, the Crystal is scanning their soul to see if they are worthy. And of course, our characters are proven worthy when they get their fortunes told. 

Unfortunately, Mephista can sense that new guardians have been chosen as well, and that jolts her awake to full consciousness. She is still trapped in the Demon Realm (for now), but begins sending monsters to Earth to defeat the new guardians and steal the Cosmic Crystal. And that's how our characters become the Power Rangers. When they Morph, they summon energy from the Crystal, and that energy surrounds them and condenses into their suits, kinda similar to how morphing works in Kiramager:

As for their individual powers and weapons, we can decide on that as a group. The floor is open for discussion XD. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and ideas. I will be playing the Red Ranger and leader of the team. The image I shared at the top of the post is an AI image showing nine Rangers together, but I am open to other ideas for their suits. If you are interested, please reply with some info about your proposed character, what color you'd like for them (can be others besides the nine, such as gold or silver), and what powers/abilities/gear/weapons you'd like for them.
