Outstanding details: Persistent and intense stare (which is mainly the result of him having an awful sleep schedule). Despite his best efforts, his hair never seems to want to stay neat for long. Clothing preferences: Likes dress shirts and smart trousers: even in casual situations he just tends to drop the tie. The most you're ever going to get him to dress down is a polo shirt and jeans. Prefers muted colours, mainly white, black and combinations thereof. Body language: Composed, and reserved, something of a resting bitch face. Feels uncomfortable unless he's doing something with his hands, so he generally keeps them crossed.
Biography
Family situation: Youngest of four brothers, only son of his father's late third (and last) wife. Looks up to but is frustrated by his eldest brother, strained relationship with the middle two, feels like he barely knows his father despite the impact he's had on his life. Education: Bachelor's Degree General world skills: A competent and surprisingly enthusiastic cook, observant and good at reading people, capable of being self-reliant in his own affairs. Special skills: Good at logistics, is able to break down situations into itemized objectives and make a plan to work through them; useful in both the human world and the Digital World. Good at directing and managing people according to their strengths. Personal history: Shogo is the fourth and youngest son of Sho Tatsugami, the head of the Tatsugami Group. While not quite on the level of the 'big four', the Tatsugami family holdings nonetheless allowed them to rise into the position of a major zaibatsu during the upheaval of the showa period, with its current head taking over in the mid-80's as that period of Japanese history came to a close and continuing to push the company forwards. This background is what made Shogo, for better or for worse. More or less raised by household staff and his ever-unavailable father's directives to them after his mother's early passing, while he was never expected to inherit leadership of the Group, its prominence and reputation informed his childhood all the same: hold your head high, don't show weakness, strive to succeed at all costs. His middle siblings, twins from a previous marriage, were largely uninterested in him and spent much of their time trying to outperform the other for their father's approval; but his eldest brother, the heir apparent, was different. Thirteen years older and almost a generation removed from Shogo, he was the firm but gentle hand that encouraged Shogo to find his strengths and follow his passions. Shogo didn't grow up the happiest child, wealth unable to substitute for warmth, but with his brother's support and guidance and the handful of friends he made along the way, he into something at least resembling a rounded individual, and certainly one with presence and values. While he took his education seriously enough to move forward on his own merits, he was involved with a handful of the Group's subsidiaries as early as his time in high school, building a rapport with them that helped him develop his own sense of management and discipline, and he graduated into higher education with hope he'd be able to make something of himself in his own lane if nothing else. But we wouldn't be spending this much time with him if things resolved themselves so neatly. A few years ago, his father dropped a bombshell on the family; with his health on the decline after almost four decades of managing the Tatsugami Group, he was looking to retire and hand off the reigns early. And in an even greater upset, it seemed his heir, the eldest of the brothers, had refused to take over from him, instead breaking off with the handful of businesses he'd built up in their time working together to set up his own company. Shogo had never expected to be anything more than a footnote in the family's history, nor had he ever been expected to amount to more than that. But that changed overnight as the family began to panic over succession, handing down the pressure and expectation that his eldest brother had patiently weathered for so many years onto the twins and himself. Part of him feels he isn't cut out for such a role, finding that his temper and deficiencies have enormously vast shoes to fill. The other, contradictory part feels he's the only one among the three remaining brothers who has the mindset to come close; the only one who could effectively lead instead of squabble amongst themselves and piss the company's resources away on nonsense. Presently, while his father has delayed his formal retirement until a suitable successor can be chosen, the management of the Tatsugami Group and its holdings are more or less split between Shogo, his brothers and the handful of advisors still clinging to the old man for dear life. Shogo managed to get his degree, but for the past year he's been working doggedly- some would say obsessively- to look after his portion of things. Perhaps, deep down, it came as a relief when he came to from his late night in the office to find himself whisked away beyond the ken of man...
Personality
Positive character traits: Responsible, forthright and honest, keeps his promises, observant of people around him and their strengths. Negative character traits: Short tempered, can't let something go once he's fixated on it, emotionally stunted and finds it difficult to express his deeper feelings and vulnerabilities in a way people can access, has a pronounced ego and desire to be self-sufficient that he doesn't always manage to live up to. Likes and hobbies: Likes animals, passionate and driven people, jazz, food and screwing with people who take themselves too seriously. Hobbies include cooking, funding interesting start-ups and projects, hiking and watching people stream. Dislikes and fears: Dislikes people who don't take anything seriously, people who expect respect without doing anything to earn it, people who expect to get good at something without putting time or effort in (and people who are naturally good at everything without having to work at it), and under-seasoned food. He's mainly scared of falling short of expectation, letting down the people who've put their faith in him and proving he's unworthy of his station in life, but he also has a bizarre fear of objects being disproportionately heavy relative to their size. Digidestined's motivation: After his initial reluctance and anger at being snatched away to another world without his knowledge or consent fades away, the mission to save the Digital World becomes another addition to the long list of things he feels personal responsibility for. Maybe it'll be his chance to realize a man is not an island and it's alright to just do the best he can, or maybe it'll be the final straw that brings his neuroses crashing down on him. Either way, now he's here, he's going to give it the good college try. General notes: Despite being alternately stoic and temperamental, and the type to try and take charge, Shogo means well and would benefit from being able to make friends who aren't intimidated by his countenance or background; if you can make it past that, he's significantly goofier than he generally allows himself to be perceived as, with some pretty strange hobbies, and is an earnest and loyal friend. Diligence is a virtue, for certain, but not when it overtakes your very self. Partner: Azumi Akaishi (Psyker Landshark) Why were they partnered: OOC: Conflicting personalities.
Biography
Origin: Edge Market City Role in Digital World: Proprietress of The Funnel, an outpost in one of the forests at the edge of Dominimon's fief. General skills: Practiced survivalist, decent at resolving conflicts with those with a similar background or mentality to her, utterly ruthless in a fight, at least a passable cook (though humans or less 'hardened' Digimon might balk at her taste in food). Special skills: People management skills picked up from her past and present occupation, good at keeping track of resources and inventory, can track allies and targets across long distances once she catches their trail. Personal history: DemiDevimon was born in one of the outbound cities of Dominimon's fief, a merchant town where wealthy travellers came to trade on their journeys across the Digital World. With opportunities scarce for common folk without coin, the young DemiDevimon fell in with the seedy underbelly of the settlement, initially as one of the various Baby and Child Digimon who would pick pockets or grift visitors, before graduating to full-fledged thuggery as she grew and evolved. By the time she'd grown to Adulthood as Dokugumon, she was a caporegime in the Gumo-gumi, one of the more prominent gangs in the area; but after a few years of regular conflicts with both armed travellers and law enforcement, the constant unease and uncertainty of the lifestyle and the aching wounds she'd accrued over the years began to take their toll, and she recused herself from the gang to head for the frontier beyond the city. After a few years of oscillating between trying to go straight and lapsing back into mugging travellers who set themselves up for an ambush, she accrued enough coin to take over a small abandoned outpost at the very edge of Dominimon's fief and rebrand it as 'The Funnel', a rest stop that didn't discriminate between clientele as long as they behaved themselves and paid their tabs. Business was good for quite a while; there was never a shortage of travellers moving through that particular neck of the woods, and while Dokugumon's fearsome reputation scared some away, it made welcome respite for both those who were willing to trust her to keep them safe from highwaymen and robbers, as well as those self-same unscrupulous types who'd be turned away at other diners, drive-ins and dives. But alas, fate had other plans in store. When corruption first began to spread across the Digital World, Dokugumon was hardly affected other than a slight stall in business and change in mood among travellers, but as it encroached further and further across the realm, business slowed down: and nonsense crept up. The frontier was never exactly the picture of peace, but with order breaking down and Digimon getting desperate to survive, she's had to return to her old, violent ways to keep The Funnel afloat, often spending days away from it to survey the area for dangerous parties moving through and only returning to make sure it hasn't been looted or burned down. Perhaps when she comes back from her most recent trip, however, she'll discover something more interesting...
Personality
Positive character traits: Resourceful, practical, capable of talking matters out relatively peacefully with potential enemies, a good host even if it took some trial and error to get there. Caring despite her rougher edges once she opens up, and always willing to dispense sincere, if candid advice. Negative character traits: Stubborn, prone to being insensitive about other people's insecurities, often profoundly amoral and escalates situations quickly once they turn to violence. Pretty notably selfish and self-interested even if she's not enormously malicious about it, and is open about this. Likes and hobbies: She likes peace and quiet, money, interesting people, and handsome men (albeit her standards aren't always the most... comprehensible to humans). Hobbies include hunting, drinking and swapping stories with customers. Dislikes and fears: She dislikes noisy or troublesome people, people who expect respect without earning it, brat kids who don't know jack about shit, and people who don't pay their tab. She's scared of birds, wasps, and ending up alone (even if she won't admit it under pain of death). Motivation: While she's indifferent to the greater struggles of the Digital World, viewing them as the result of self-important idiots throwing their weight around, the corruption is something she can't so readily ignore: after struggling to carve a niche for herself in the world, she's prepared to put things on the back burner to ensure she can hold on to it. Also, someone's got to make sure this brat doesn't get herself eaten. Dark Super Mega suggestion: "Is there a fucking echo in here?" General Notes: Being that DemiDevimon's line is already naturally and heavily demonic/monstrous, the logic of the suggestions is that Azumi's specific dysfunctions cause her corrupted forms to invert her nature rather than exarcebate it; becoming more humanoid, loud and garish and gaining powers related to their shared desire to stay in their own little world and comfort zones.

Personal touches
Whatever:

Voiced by: Kari Wahlgren [ENG] / Mayumi Shintani [JP]
Character Theme: Re-Hash (Gorillaz)
