He’s the kind of character who helps strangers in disasters, practices magic under candlelight after long shifts, and quietly wonders if he belongs anywhere but keeps going anyway. He’s a striver, and a reluctant hero who never asked to be one. Kindhearted with a shy edge, Adam makes small talk with strangers as he runs his routes. His training as an apprentice investigator has sharpened his eye for detail. Sometimes he’s right, sometimes he isn’t, but he always notices. Most of his responsibility falls on providing for himself and his mother, a weight he carries without complaint. Often he'll talk with his hands, especially when anxious or explaining something complex. Counts objects (steps, windows, stones) when stressed an unconscious grounding habit.
Background:
Adam was born in a small home in Belleville, once called Mudville. His mother, Catherine, was a young handmaiden serving a low noble who was trying to expand his influence by his attempt to run for the town as its mayor. She was captivated by all the honeyed words he spoke, though sadly it was only so he had someone to warm his bed at night. Weeks passed. The noble's candidacy for mayor of Mudville fell through, and not wanting to waste time and money, he left, leaving Catherine, who was beginning to show signs of pregnancy. With the help of some close friends, Catherine was able to give birth in a small hovel to a baby boy. Adam spent his days with the children of other parents close to his mother as she worked her job. Being young, they often got into trouble with other citizens. In the evenings, his mother would return, giving him love and affection. She would often tell him stories of fantasy and mystery, which he marvelled at every time. He would frequently ask about his father, as he was mocked for not having one in his life. Some children would call him "Adam the Bastard," which would lead to fights. Determined to end this, he would defend his mother, claiming she was more than a whore who slept with a noble. Adam then browsed through some old fantasy stories his mother had bought him over the years. One of his favourites was a tale about a brave mage named Galahad, who protected his people and was loved by all. By eleven, Adam began to show signs of his gift. His mother, during her time at home instead of working, taught him the basics, which he picked up quickly and became eager to learn more. He wondered about the school nearby and whether they would accept him, but it was just a dream that the tuition was too expensive for a simple woman's occupation. Adam thought about his father, hoping he might help, as he was likely living his best life while they scraped by. Thinking for himself, Adam looked for ways to earn some money. By chance, a merchant was furious because his delivery crew had forgotten the paperwork needed for shipping. Adam offered to deliver it. The merchant hesitated at first but then remembered his mother and agreed, offering him some small change if he completed the task. Despite some mistakes and getting a little lost, Adam managed to deliver just in time before the ship set sail. Impressed, the merchant handed him a letter to deliver to a friend. He completed the job, with a few errors along the way, and word of his efforts soon spread. It was then he decided to seek out the Yasoi refugees that lived close around Belleville. During the times that he wasn't running errands for people he would spend time playing with the Yasoi children. Which helped his athletic skills making him able to climb and jump across roofs of houses that were close together. As years progressed he would eventually build up a reputation where he would be requested by some of the Yasoi refugees to help deliver trinkets and notes to the Yasoi that stayed in the Evertree. Located in the grounds of Ersand'Enise. In the months that followed, through hard work he had saved enough money. He wanted to help his mother, but she insisted he use it to buy a book to improve his magic so he could be more practical and take on more courier tasks. His mind often wandered back to questions about his father whether he was still alive or not. Eventually, his courier skills caught the attention of a man named Moli, who offered him work delivering letters both inside and outside the Emporium. Even branching out to the borders of the other territories that were around the area often in Perrench and Revidian. Things went well until the Emporium burned down. Many were injured, and fatalities. After the fire, Adam was close to saving enough money for his education, but tragedy struck when his mother fell gravely ill. Medicine proved insufficient, so Adam used most of his savings to pay a binder to help her. With most of his savings gone, Adam took on another job alongside his courier work: he became an apprentice investigator. During an investigation job, there was an incident. Because of something incident during the Trails. A Perrench uprising. At first Adam tried helping people seek shelter, getting them to somewhere safe. Terrified himself, he didn't know what to do. Running along he would help put out fires with his magic, moving rubble to free trapped citizens. Climbing up houses to rescue trapped people. Because of this, the school reached out to him providing him with assistance to his education, because of his skill he used with his magic. Over time, he relied more on his own efforts than on the official investigator. He did most of the heavy lifting such as investigating a warehouse bombing involving the Colas, and later, a series of murders involving demons and gargoyles. With the war happening and the Perrench taking over the borders now. Adam still often gets delivery jobs that require him to leave Belleville and come to these lands that look way different because of the war that was happening around. He often gets stopped by Perrench forces that occupy the border that once belonged to Revidia. It's when he goes there, even though he's been there multiple times in the past, it feels wrong.
Inventory

❖ The Unlucky Coin: It is tails on both side and will only roll a 1. Whoever flips it will roll with disadvantage for their next ten rolls. However, if they manage to roll a 2 somehow, they will roll with advantage for their next ten turns before the coin resets. ❖ Stormbreaker Great Spear: An 8 foot tall silver spear with a large azure blue doubled headed blade that seems to be pulsing with energy. This spear gives the user 20 manas. Through the use of magnetic and kinetic channeling the user is able to focus all the magnetic charge directed at the user and fire it in another direction. This allows the user to have advantage against external magnetic attacks and, once per scenario, send an external magnetic attack that targets the user at another target. ❖ Glasses of the Inventive Scribe - You can invent an ability, divine fruit, or item, and quietly slip it into your character's rolls. If nobody calls you out, you can continue to use it.(

Motivation:
He wants to show that even someone who began with nothing, no talent, no privilege, or no promise can rise through sheer grit and heart to defend the people around him. He longs to be the kind of man his mother could look at and say, “I’m proud of you.” Seeking the sense of safety and stability he never had growing up. Feeling compelled to protect others who carry the same shadows he once did. Striving to master magic not just as a skill, but as a way to rewrite the story of his own beginnings. And, at last, he hopes to face the truth about his father—not from love or yearning, but to finally close the lingering wound.
