Above her, the whup whup whup of helicopter blades cutting through the air got closer until they were hovering only a few hundred feet above. A spotlight traced over the crater like it was trying to make out what had happened until it landed on her. It felt invasive and unfriendly, and while she wanted knock them out of the sky to demand they leave her alone, that didn’t seem like the best way to introduce herself. As if the universe had heard her prayer for help, for a kinder hand to reach out to her, there in a strike of lightning appeared a man. Koriand’r lifted her head to get a better look at Thor as he introduced himself, her face wet with tears and her still-wet hair sticking to the edges of her hairline to make her look far more weak and pitiful than she truly was. He looked to be about her age with all the familiar features of humanoid beings. He was even handsome - bright hair and brighter eyes that reminded her in a way of her baby brother. But then he spoke, and all thoughts of comparison and trust burned away in an instant. He spoke in a language that was all too familiar. Without a coordinates or a proper destination, the pod had taken her to the planet she had least wanted to visit. Thor spoke with a gentle tone and an offer of assistance, but then so had the High Evolutionary when he approached Koriand’r and her sister for the first time. Barbarous sadism went down much easier with a spoonful of sugar, after all. “You speak the tongue of the High Evolutionary. Is this…Earth?” Kori queried hesitantly. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously; she had no reason to believe others from Earth were any different than the man who had raised her. If they were a singularly cruel as he had been, she was better off abandoning the planet and finding somewhere else more favourable. She cautiously pushed herself back further away from him until her back hit the ruined side of the escape pod. At least that way no one could sneak up to her, even if it left her cornered she was not defenceless. She was prepared to fight for her freedom again, if the situation called for it, but she kept as level a head as she could as she felt the fear rise in her chest again. She would let them prove themselves monsters first before she chose to become one herself to secure her freedom. “I would not have landed here if I had any other choice, but I am...limited by these,” she held up her hands to show off the connected restraints that encased her hands and most of her forearms in a unique alloy capable of withstanding her powers. “I wish only to be free.”
